Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will perform DFA analysis for new product mechanical assembly, driving non-compliance closure. They will collaborate with Design Engineering and Electronic Manufacturing Services to resolve mechanical assembly and process issues, and develop new Backend processes/technology. The role involves developing suppliers for manufacturing processes, troubleshooting product mechanical failures, optimizing new product manufacturing processes, and seeking breakthroughs to improve quality, productivity, and cost.

Must Have

• Perform DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis for new product mechanical assembly, and drive for non-compliance closure.
• Work with DE (Design Engineering) and EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) to drive closure of mechanical assembly or process related issues.
• Work with DE (Design Engineering) and EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) to develop new BE (Backend) processes / technology.
• Develop suppliers to provide best in class manufacturing processes to support new product manufacturing requirements.
• Hands-on experience in product mechanical failures troubleshooting and optimization of new product manufacturing processes.
• Continuously develop and seek new processes breakthroughs that improve quality, productivity and cost.
• Possess at least a Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in the related field.
• Candidate must possess experience and knowledge in Mechanical assembly process.
• Familiar with best practices in mechanical assembly and assembly jig / fixture design.
• Familiar with poka-yoke design and Design for Assembly guideline / design rules.
• Familiar with statistical tool such as pFMEA, SPC, DOE.
• Experience with Ultrasonic, laser, resistance welding and heat staking process.
• Experience with Vacuum leak test requirement and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication, organization, reporting and analytical skills.
• Self motivated with high level of initiative and energy.
• Willingness for domestic and international travel (when applicable).
• Willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

Good to Have

• Experience in SMT process for Flex and PCBA
• Experience in SMT DFM process

Basic Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in the related field.
• Candidate must possess below experience and knowledge :
• Mechanical assembly process
• Familiar with best practices in mechanical assembly and assembly jig / fixture design
• Familiar with poka-yoke design and Design for Assembly guideline / design rules
• Familiar with statistical tool such as pFMEA, SPC, DOE
• Ultrasonic, laser, resistance welding and heat staking process
• Vacuum leak test requirement and troubleshooting
• Experience / knowledge in below technology/methodology will be added advantage
• Experience in SMT process for Flex and PCBA
• Experience in SMT DFM process
