Job Summary

The Product Engineer is the technical owner for assigned turbine blade repair product families, responsible for delivering SQDC performance through engineering governance, capability development, new repair introduction (NRI) execution, and continuous process optimization. This role leads risk-reduction, quality-improvement, cycle-time optimization, takt attainment, and product cost-out initiatives, ensuring repair methods are technically robust, compliant with GE Vernova and regulatory standards, and scalable. The engineer will also provide advanced technical support and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production issues.

Must Have

  • 1-3 years of experience in turbine blade repair, hot-section component repair, or industrial engineering
  • Proven experience in method development, repair qualification, CTQ management, and engineering documentation control
  • Demonstrated capability in delivering SQDC outcomes
  • Experience with New Repair Introduction (NRI)
  • Strong technical knowledge of metallurgy, welding, coatings, NDT, heat treatment, and general failure mechanisms
  • Ability to interpret GE Vernova specifications, engineering drawings, process documentation, and CTQ requirements

The product engineer leads risk-reduction initiatives, quality-improvement projects, cycle-time optimization, takt attainment programs, and product cost-out activities, while ensuring that both existing and newly introduced repair methods are technically robust, compliant with GE Vernova and regulatory standards, and scalable to operational demands.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical owner for assigned turbine blade repair product families, accountable for overall SQDC performance.
  • Govern engineering standards, CTQs, repair methods, routings, and configuration control to ensure technical compliance and process robustness.
  • Lead New Repair Introduction (NRI) activities, including TRL→MRL progression, qualification builds, documentation readiness, and cross-functional industrialization.
  • Drive safety risk-reduction projects, eliminating high-severity hazards and strengthening process controls.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives targeting defect elimination, FPY improvement, and CTQ stability.
  • Execute cycle-time reduction and takt attainment projects to improve delivery performance and stabilize production flow.
  • Lead product cost-out projects through repair redesign, process simplification, tooling/fixture improvements, and yield enhancement.
  • Provide advanced technical support and lead complex RCAs, disposition decisions, and customer-facing investigations.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Materials, Planning, and Sourcing to resolve daily production issues and support SQDC outcomes.
  • Evaluate, develop, and industrialize new repair technologies, inspection methods, metallurgical processes, and capability improvements.
  • Build and maintain engineering dashboards and data analytics to track CTQ health, capability trends, and SQDC performance.
  • Represent engineering in audits, technical reviews, and customer engagements, ensuring strong technical governance and transparency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in turbine blade repair, hot-section component repair, or equivalent industrial engineering role.
  • Proven experience in method development, repair qualification, CTQ management, and engineering documentation control.
  • Demonstrated capability in delivering SQDC outcomes: risk reduction, quality improvement, cycle-time reduction, takt attainment, and product cost-out.
  • Experience with New Repair Introduction (NRI), including qualification builds and industrialization.
  • Strong technical knowledge of metallurgy, welding, coatings, NDT, heat treatment, and general failure mechanisms.
