As an Audio Software Product & Partner Manager at NXP, you will collaborate with Product Marketing and R&D to define, drive, and manage the roadmap for automotive audio software products. Key responsibilities include building a software product strategy aligned with business needs, defining product requirements, and serving as the customer interface for software products. You will analyze competitor capabilities, develop product marketing tools, and manage software sales and revenue strategies. This role also involves driving alternative revenue models, prioritizing software products with R&D, managing relationships with key software partners, overseeing the software budget, and developing competitive software features for NXP’s ICs.
Must have:
  • Build a strategy of software products and delivery plans aligned to business needs.
  • Drive planning and execution with R&D, ensuring timely deliveries meeting customer expectations.
  • Define product requirements for software products and deliverables.
  • Be the customer face for software products, discussing functionality and building requirements.
  • Understand major competitor capabilities and product strategy.
  • Establish market-based understanding of software value and develop marketing tools.
  • Plan and manage software sales and revenue strategy.
  • Drive business strategies for alternative customer revenue models (adders, revenue sharing, buy outs, NRE’s, software enabled hardware).
  • Manage strategy and prioritization of software products with R&D.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate commercial/license discussions with key SW partners.
  • Understand and manage software budget and spend with R&D.
  • Manage a portfolio of software products with maintenance and warranty contracts.
  • Work with innovation teams to define and develop competitive SW features.

As an Audio Software Product & Partner Manager you will be in partnership with both the Product Marketing Team and the R&D team to define, drive and manage the roadmap of our automotive audio software products integral to the solutions strategy of our business.

Your responsibilities

As an Audio Software Product & Partner Manager, you are responsible to:

  • Build a strategy of software products and delivery plans aligned to the business needs, drive the planning and execution with the R&D organization ensuring deliveries meet timing and customer functional expectations;
  • Define the product requirements of our software products and deliverables;
  • Be the customer face of our software products, be able to discuss functionality and build product requirements from customer communication;
  • Understand the major competitor real capabilities and their product strategy, ensure a competitive capability is planned from NXP;
  • Establish a fact/market based common understanding of our potential software value and develop the product marketing tools to allow our sales team to extract that value;
  • Plan and manage our software sales and revenue strategy with the product marketing & business leaders;
  • Drive the business strategies for alternative customer revenue models, adders, revenue sharing, buy outs, buy ins, NRE’s, software enabled hardware, etc.;
  • Manage the strategy and prioritization of software products with the R&D team, working the tradeoffs required to meet our customer requirements and our strategies;
  • Manage relationships and coordinate commercial / license discussions with the key SW partners, share roadmaps keep them updated on our strategies and product timing;
  • Understand and manage our software budget and spend with the R&D team ensuring optimum use is made of both internal and external resources;
  • Manage a portfolio of software products with appropriate maintenance and warranty contracts with our focused customers;
  • Work with the innovation teams to define and develop competitive and differentiating SW features and products fitting NXP’s IC’s;

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • BSc or MSc degree and at least 10 years of experience in the software industry, serving automotive or similar markets;
  • Experience of the Automotive OEM software supply chain;
  • Commercial experience of selling, buying, and/or managing software;
  • Experience with the development of embedded software;
  • A good understanding of the semiconductor business;
  • Experience in developing contracts and competitive positioning of T&C’s;
  • Experience of software product management through all the lifecycles (creation to maintenance);
  • Ability to develop & present successful business plans to senior management;
  • Track record of significant business development & long-term relationship building;
  • Partner management – developing win-win relationships with trusted partners;

Furthermore, you have:

  • Strong communication & influencing skills;
  • Experience of working in a multi-national company with global customers would be an advantage;
  • Able to travel when required to our customers or partners;
  • You are fluent in English;
