Job Description

As a Product Owner, you will take ownership of a specific Business Intelligence (BI) Squad. You'll ensure stakeholders have dashboards with actionable insights to meet business goals. This requires effective communication to translate needs into valuable BI deliverables. Your primary objective is to deliver high-quality BI solutions that drive operational excellence, enable data-driven decision-making, and support business growth.
Must have:
  • Partner with BI Manager and stakeholders for BI vision and objectives.
  • Collaborate to prioritize BI features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Develop and refine squad's BI strategy based on user needs.
  • Manage product backlog, ensuring items are defined and ready.
  • Act as key contact for BI initiatives, providing guidance and support.
  • Ensure dashboard requirements are well-defined and actionable.
  • Detail functional specifications, documentation, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI analysts, and functional analysts.
  • Act as liaison between business stakeholders and BI team.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies.
  • Foster supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Empower development team with clear BI requirements.
  • Act as servant leader, removing obstacles and facilitating communication.
  • Encourage professional growth and skill development.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to foster professional growth.

About the Role

As a Product Owner , You will take ownership of a specific Business Intelligence (BI) Squad. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our stakeholders have the right dashboards available, which provide them with actionable insights to meet their business goals and challenges. This will require effective stakeholder communication to understand needs and translate them into valuable BI deliverables.

Your primary objective will be to deliver high-quality BI solutions that drive operational excellence, enable data-driven decision-making, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

BI Product Strategy & Prioritization:

  • Partner with the BI Manager and business stakeholders to understand and contribute to the overall BI vision and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize BI features, enhancements, and bug fixes to be included in your squad's BI roadmap and backlog, ensuring alignment with business value and strategic goals.
  • Develop and refine the squad's BI strategy based on user needs, business goals, and data best practices.
  • Manage the product backlog for your BI squad, ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development.

Requirements Gathering & Solution Design:

  • Act as a key point of contact for BI initiatives within your squad's domain, providing guidance and support to stakeholders throughout the development process, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Ensure that requirements for dashboards are well-defined, actionable, and align with overall BI objectives.
  • Detail the functional specifications, documentation, and acceptance criteria for BI deliverables, ensuring they meet the "definition of ready" for the BI team.

Agile Development & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-squad teams, including Data Engineers, BI analysts and functional analysts to ensure successful implementation of BI projects.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the BI team, providing clarifications and resolving any product-related issues.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Empowering and Supporting the Team:

  • Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment that values the contributions of each team member within your BI squad.
  • Empower the development team by providing clear BI requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as a servant leader, removing obstacles and facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Encourage professional growth and skill development within the team by providing mentorship, training opportunities, and constructive feedback.
  • Play a pivotal role in your squad providing leadership and coaching to foster their professional growth and enhance overall team performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management or Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a Business Intelligence or Data & Analytics environment.
  • Strong understanding of product management principles and practices, as well as experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g.,Tableau)

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including business users, data professionals, and IT teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
