Job Description

The Product Sales Executive is responsible for directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow Safe Systems solutions within the Systems BU product line. The successful candidate will ensure the profitability and continued growth of SCADE, medini, STK, SAM & ModelCenter products in Central Europe. As an expert in the assigned product line, they will achieve a direct sales quota and support overall product-line success. The role involves identifying customer needs, developing effective value propositions, and articulating the benefits of Ansys products. Key duties include performing product sales for new/renewal business in Northern Europe, partnering with sales and channel partners, contributing to all sales stages, facilitating communication with sales and technical teams, establishing customer relationships, participating in industry shows, creating and leading advanced solution presentations, and coordinating technical support for demos and proof-of-concepts. The role also involves developing proposals, providing client feedback to product development, and ensuring fluent communication in English and German. Travel is up to 50%.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, business, or related field.
  • 6+ years sales or consulting experience in engineering/technology applications.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Summary / Role Purpose

The Product Sales Executive is responsible for directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow Safe Systems solutions as part of the Systems BU product line. The successful Product Sales Executive will ensure the profitability and continued growth of SCADE, medini, STK, SAM & ModelCenter products within the Central Europe organization. As an expert in the assigned product line, the Product Sales Executive is responsible for achieving a direct sales quota in that product line, as well as supporting overall product-line success, all within an overlay structure.

 

The successful Product Sales Executive will ensure the profitability and continued growth of the above mentioned products for the organization. They are excellent presenters that excel at identifying the customer’s need and developing effective value propositions. They understand the customer’s business priorities and usage metrics and are clearly able to articulate the value-added benefit that Ansys products are providing.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs product sales activities for new/renewal business for Northern Europe territory within an assigned set of accounts to achieve or exceed assigned product and service revenue objectives. 
  • Partners with field and enterprise sales within Ansys and Channel partners, to collaboratively develop and pro-actively execute strategies that drive product and service revenue as part of an overall account strategy​.
  • Effectively contributes to all stages of the sales process.
  • Facilitates communication with the sales and technical team with respect to updates on product capabilities, success stories and winning strategies. 
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization’s products and services​.
  • Participates in industry shows and conventions​.
  • Creates and leads advanced solution presentations to match identified customer needs using company's products & services. Identifies Ansys advantages and positions Ansys’ products and services as superior to competitive offerings​.
  • Coordinates and organizes technical (ACE) support for demos, PoCs, support of evaluation, training etc.
  • Works with team members to develop clear and effective written proposals, quotations, and value propositions for current and prospective customers​.
  • Provides client feedback to product development and marketing staff​.

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, business or related field with 6+ years sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of successOR 8+ years sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success​.
  • Fluent in English and in German
  • Travel: up to 50%

  • Strong knowledge of company's products/services and pricing practices
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the product market position
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering analysis and technology​.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of sales fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently, interdisciplinary and with several teams (ACE, DEV, Marketing, PM etc.) and hierarchies within the organization​.
  • Works autonomously, proactive approach with managerial guidance as needed
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to coordinate with personnel distributed across multiple global sites
  • Strong problem-solving; ability to determine appropriate solutions for customers​.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong networking skills, ability to drive new contacts and maintain good business relationships. Ability to network using direct (face to face) or indirect (email, phone, social media) technology.
  • Ability to foster collaboration & coordination with personal distributed across multiple global sites
