Job Description

The Production Assistant will support the production of a live newscast. Responsibilities include assisting producers with editing news material, working with technical staff for graphic needs, planning pre-production elements, and assisting the Commercial Production team with client creative. The role also involves aiding in the production of the community show and performing other duties as assigned, including on-camera work. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Must have:
  • Assist producers and edit news material.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Write news content, edit video material, and organize rundowns.
  • Knowledge of video production or broadcast environment.
  • Proficient in live studio operations.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

Univision Television Group, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks a full-time Production Assistant to assist with duties pertaining to the production of a live newscast.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

  • Assisting Producers and editing News material
  • Work with technical staff to satisfy graphic needs for shows, under supervision of Producer, Director, and Technical Director
  • Plan and execute any required pre-production elements
  • Assist the Commercial Production team with client creative
  • Aid in the production of our community show
  • Perform other duties as assigned including on camera work

YOU HAVE:

  • College degree or trade school certification is preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Write news content, edit video material, and organize rundowns.
  • Social Media knowledge.
  • Knowledge of video production or broadcast environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in live studio operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends, holidays, and early shifts.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license and a good driving record.
