Cleveland Service Shop  - 2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Summary:

At our Cleveland Service Center site, located in Cleveland, Ohio, we re-manufacture alternators for EVO, HDL and FDL locomotives. The Cleveland Center supplies alternators to locomotive manufacturing sites and repairs points across the globe. The site focuses on safe, efficient processes, while continuously driving out costs.

How will you make a difference?

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Provide direction and support for an assigned hourly production team encompassing EHS, Quality, Process, Material, Delivery.

  • Lead and support all Continuous Improvement Activities.

  • Drive lean and digital mindset with work group through implementation of 5s, visual management, and support of brilliant factory initiatives.

  • Assist with implementation of condition based work scopes and service productivity projects into flow lines for sustainability, efficiency, and overall optimization.

  • Promote culture of team work, continuous improvement, and collaborate problem solving.

  • Provide clear and accurate communication to the work group. Ensure follow-up on issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Drive customer satisfaction through detailed focus on product reliability and on-time delivery.

  • Identify opportunities to increase employee engagement, motivation, and collaboration across work group.

  • Ensure compliance to JSA’s, SOP’s, and drive work order completion and material controllership.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience within manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or Operations is preferred

  • Experience with lean management systems and principles (preferred)

  • Six Sigma Certification (preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace, high intensity environment while spending majority of time on shop floor

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, coach and drive accountability.

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.

  • Strong process improvement skills using lean problem solving tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $77,400-$110,300

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
