Job Description

Forsmarks Kraftgrupp is seeking a Project Sponsor/Client to contribute to Sweden's fossil-free electricity supply. This role within the Plant Technology unit focuses on developing and maintaining high availability for Forsmark's three production facilities. The Project Sponsor will identify and evaluate plant needs, prepare proposals for management, and act as a client function for renewal projects, ensuring their successful execution and financial oversight.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in project management and technical client roles

  • University or college education in technology or industrial economics
Must Have:
  • High school education in technology or economics

Forsmark nuclear power plant is one of the largest electricity producers in Sweden, producing one-sixth of the electricity consumed in Sweden. Nuclear power has very low fossil footprints and is a stable and weather-independent power source. Forsmarks Kraftgrupp is now looking for a project sponsor/client!

Within the Plant Technology unit, we work to develop and maintain high availability over time for Forsmark's three production facilities. This means long-term highlighting of plant needs by compiling, reporting, and realizing them.

The unit includes the System Management Mechanics, Process, Construction group, which ensures that the status of the facilities is documented and maintained. The group analyzes and evaluates the need for renewals, which they then prepare and present to company management and Vattenfall. The group then acts as a client function for projects concerning plant renewals.

Today, we are 15 committed colleagues with varying backgrounds and education; together, we have solid experience working in the nuclear power industry and at Forsmark. We often collaborate with colleagues from operations, maintenance, purchasing, the project office, and the technical department, as well as external parties.

Here are examples of your responsibilities in the role of project sponsor/client:

  • Conduct monetary risk assessments for identified potential needs
  • Build "business cases" and action planning (choice of action)
  • Lead preliminary studies from documented need to initiated project
  • Part of the project's steering group
  • Manage the project and ensure that there are conditions for success and that the project addresses what needs to be considered
  • Represent the projects before company management and owners
  • Responsible for the projects' safety treatment and finances
  • Actively participate in the work to develop and improve work processes for both the group and the entire unit.

Requirements Specification

You have:

  • High school education in, for example, technology or economics
  • Several years of relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English (spoken and written).

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

  • Project management and technical client roles
  • Leading roles and decision-making
  • Work in large-scale industrial environments such as process industry, manufacturing, and/or production
  • University or college education in, for example, technology or industrial economics.
