Job Summary

PulsePoint is a technology company optimizing campaign performance and health decision-making. We are seeking a QA Engineer for the LIFE Platform to perform hands-on testing across multiple projects, validate integrations, and ensure seamless end-to-end functionality. This role involves developing and executing test strategies, designing test plans, performing API and integration testing, tracking issues, and contributing to automation development. The ideal candidate has a background in software quality assurance for web-based technologies and strong analytical skills.

Must Have

  • Develop and execute test strategies across multiple projects
  • Design and review test plans, test cases, and scripts
  • Perform functional API testing and evaluate outcomes
  • Perform integration testing to validate system components
  • Track and document testing outcomes, identify issues, and generate reports
  • Help troubleshoot issues and assist stakeholders with analysis
  • Verification of patches and bug fixes
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance in web-based technologies
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and testing methodologies
  • Experience with functional, compatibility, integration, and system testing
  • Experience creating test cases and testing documentation from requirements/specifications
  • Experience gathering testing requirements for projects with minimal development documentation
  • Hands-on experience with REST/API web services and tools like Postman or SoapUI
  • Ability to effectively use issue tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla etc.)

The Role:

We are currently looking for a QA Engineer, LIFE Platform to join our team. You will perform hands-on testing across multiple projects and validate integrations between components to ensure seamless end to end functionality, contributing directly to the delivery of reliable, user-friendly solutions.

This will be the perfect fit for you if you have software quality assurance experience in web-based technologies, a background in computer science, meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test strategies across multiple projects to ensure consistent product quality
  • Design and review test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure coverage based on requirements
  • Perform functional API testing, design meaningful scenarios and evaluate outcomes
  • Perform integration testing to validate seamless interaction between system components
  • Track and document testing outcomes, identify issues, and generate clear reports to support resolution
  • Help troubleshoot issues and assist stakeholders with issue analysis
  • Verification of patches and bug fixes
  • Contribute to automation development by creating and maintaining test scripts with modern tools (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Postman, or SoapUI), helping the team deliver faster, higher quality releases
  • Work closely with on-site and remote engineering resources across multiple countries
  • Collaborate with team, learn and implement new technologies
  • Identify potential risks, communicate findings and support the development of effective mitigation strategies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance in web-based technologies
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and testing methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience with functional, compatibility, integration, and system testing
  • Experience creating test cases and testing documentation from requirements/specifications
  • Experience gathering testing requirements for projects with minimal development documentation
  • Hands-on experience with REST/API web services and tools, such as Postman or SoapUI
  • Ability to effectively use issue tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla etc.)
  • Highly desired proficiency in developing and executing SQL queries
  • Highly desired hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) and relevant programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Hours and Location:

  • You must be willing and able to work 12-9pm IST
  • Note that our Director of QA is in the U.S. but the majority of the QA team is in India
  • We offer both hybrid and remote options

  • We are also open to hiring this as a fully remote role

Comp Structure and Benefits:

  • Comp structure: fixed (inclusive of PF, Gratuity, and a 25k INR medical premium) -+ a target annual bonus that is approximately 5% of the gross annual earnings. Note that we don’t offer stock options

Selection Process:

1. Online tech pre-screen via CodeSignal, consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions (10 mins)

2. Intro phone screen (20 mins, U.S. time zone after 8:30pm IST)

3. Initial interview with hiring manager (1 hour, could be conducted in India time zone after 12pm IST)

4. Group Panel Interview with QA team (60 mins, could be conducted in India time zone after 12pm IST)

5. Final interview with Director of QA (45 mins, U.S. time zone after 8:30pm IST)
