Synopsys, now including Ansys, is seeking an R&D Engineer (f/m) to join the SimAI platform team, which uses SaaS AI technology for faster simulation. The role involves developing new features for SimAI, which leverages proprietary Deep Learning algorithms. Responsibilities include designing and training cutting-edge AI models, developing production code, creating neural network architectures for tasks like image recognition and natural language processing, and participating in planning and research. The engineer will also perform development activities, maintain software modules, test, document, and resolve bugs. The position emphasizes learning best practices and working under supervision.
Must have:
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Deep Learning libraries
  • Experience with MLOps tooling
Good to have:
  • AI/Deep Learning experience in CAE
  • Knowledge of geometry handling, numerical simulation
  • Basic understanding of software development
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and collaborate

Summary / Role Purpose

The SimAI platform is a SaaS AI-based technology that brings unprecedented speed, innovation, and accessibility to simulation. It is built on proprietary Deep Learning algorithms at the forefront of AI. With Ansys SimAI, users can train AI models using simulation results and reliably predict the performance of complex problems in minutes instead of hours or days. It empowers users to make faster decisions, iterate more quickly, and ultimately drive faster innovation.The R&D Engineer will be part of a team of ML Engineers developing new features for the SimAI product. The scope of the position includes everything from designing and training cutting-edge models to developing robust production code.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps creating architectures for neural networks tailored to specific tasks, such as image recognition, natural language processing, or speech recognition
  • Participates in planning, architecture, and research
  • Performs basic development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
  • Learns and employs best practices
  • Performs basic bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
  • Works under the close supervision of a development manager

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with Python, Deep Learning libraries and MLOps tooling

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Technical knowledge and experience applying AI and Deep Learning techniques to CAE, namely geometry handling, numerical simulation and methods
  • Basic understanding of the software development process
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
