The Etrelles site is Thales's microelectronics center of excellence, handling development, production, integration, and testing. The site designs and manufactures microelectronic modules for demanding environments and integrated electronic sub-assemblies. Join the Industrial Methods department as an Industrial Reference Engineer for Printed Circuits. You will be an expert in printed circuits, essential to our products, supporting designers and the design office throughout the development, qualification, and launch of new products. You will participate in design, industrialization, and production phases, while helping to resolve technical issues.
Must have:
  • Support designers and the design office in defining PCBs and ceramic-based PCBs for new product development to ensure compatibility with industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to the development of design rules.
  • Validate and ensure technical follow-up of PCB and ceramic-based PCB qualifications (new suppliers, new technologies, or major process evolutions).
  • Ensure technical liaison and maturity development with PCB suppliers: identify key parameters, DFM analyses, launch reviews, validate ranges, technical follow-up, validate FAI before mass production, and validate/monitor action plans.
  • Provide technical support to incoming inspection, production, industrialization, and development teams.

Your daily life

Located at the gates of Brittany, the Etrelles site is the center of excellence in microelectronics, bringing together development, production, integration, and testing activities. The site designs and manufactures microelectronic modules that can evolve in demanding environments, as well as integrated electronic sub-assemblies.

Join the Industrial Methods department of the Industrial Competence Center (CCI) in Etrelles as an Industrial Reference Engineer for Printed Circuits (M/F). You are an expert in printed circuits, essential to our products, and you support designers and the design office throughout the development, qualification, and launch of new products. Thus, you participate in the design, industrialization, and production phases, while helping to resolve technical problems.

Missions:

  • Supports designers and the design office in defining PCBs and ceramic-based PCBs during the development of new products to make them compatible with industrial manufacturing processes,
  • Contributes to the development of design rules,
  • Validates and ensures the technical follow-up of PCB and ceramic-based PCB qualifications: in the case of new suppliers, new technologies (materials, processes) or following major process evolutions at our suppliers or internally at Thales (assembly aspect),
  • Ensures the technical link and the maturity development of our PCB suppliers: identification of key parameters of a definition file, DFM (Design For Manufacturing) analyses, launch reviews, validation of ranges, technical follow-up at our suppliers, validation of FAI (First Article Inspection) to ensure this last milestone before mass production in collaboration with incoming inspection and, finally, validation and technical follow-up of action plans at suppliers,
  • Provides technical support to incoming inspection, production, industrialization, and development teams.

Regular travel to suppliers will be required.

Your profile

You are recognized for your interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders, placing your sense of customer and supplier service at the heart of your actions?

You aspire to evolve in a challenging environment where your sense of service and your ability to work in a team will contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and the optimization of our technical and industrial solutions?

You are motivated by the idea of being a source of proposals to participate in the development of innovative solutions to meet our industrial challenges?

You have a Bac+5 level diploma obtained from an engineering school or equivalent and have several years of experience obtained in an industrial environment that allowed you to acquire the following skills:

  • Knowledge of printed circuits (PCB: Printed Circuit Board),
  • Technologies, manufacturing processes, and analysis tools for electronic boards and associated bare circuits,
  • Criteria/standards for controls/acceptance of this type of product,
  • Ideally, experience in electronic development or industrialization.
