The Reliability Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the company's equipment and systems. This role involves analyzing equipment performance, developing maintenance strategies, and implementing reliability improvements to maximize asset availability and reduce downtime. The role also develops long-term plans for Equipment Reliability improvements throughout our campuses. Responsibilities include analyzing equipment performance, developing maintenance plans, monitoring equipment performance, leading improvement initiatives, and providing technical support. The technician is expected to maintain records, prepare reports, and ensure safety compliance.
Must have:
  • Conduct equipment performance analysis for improvements.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor equipment performance using diagnostic tools.
  • Lead improvement projects to enhance reliability.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Position Summary

The Reliability Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the company's equipment and systems. This role involves analyzing equipment performance, developing maintenance strategies, and implementing reliability improvements to maximize asset availability and reduce downtime.

 

The role also develops long-term plans for Equipment Reliability improvements throughout our campuses.

 

Work with site leadership to develop, improve, and strengthen our preventive and predictive work, and drive breakdown time down. Develop and assist the team in the full use and benefit of a highly functional computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

 

Primary Duties

Reliability Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of equipment performance and failure data to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Develop and maintain equipment reliability databases and dashboards.

Maintenance Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Create and optimize maintenance plans and schedules to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to develop effective maintenance strategies.

Equipment Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor equipment performance and condition using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Analyze vibration, thermography, oil analysis, and other condition monitoring data.
  • Identify potential failure modes and recommend corrective actions.

Improvement Initiatives:

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Implement reliability improvement initiatives such as equipment upgrades, process changes, and technology enhancements.
  • Track and report the effectiveness of reliability improvement initiatives.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills of maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in the design and specification of new equipment and systems to ensure reliability and maintainability.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of reliability analysis, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
  • Prepare and present reliability reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance manuals.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections of equipment and maintenance activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety and reliability within the organization.

 

Training, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Asset Maintenance Reliability).
  • In lieu of a degree, 4+ years’ experience in related field – including performance consistent with said experience
  • Relevant technical diploma or certification (CMRP/CRE/CLS/CRL/ARP).
  • Proven experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or a related field.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of reliability analysis tools and techniques (RCA, FMEA, RCM).
  • Experience with condition monitoring technologies and diagnostic tools.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance and reliability.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and best practices
  • Familiar with Autocad, BMS systems, CMMS and FM programs highly desirable.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
