Job Description

An exciting opportunity for two skilled Repair of Spares Inspectors at the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility in Derby. This role involves inspecting assemblies and components, raising non-conformances, and ensuring engine configuration meets requirements. Inspectors will work to deadlines, maintain high quality and safety standards, and collaborate with Quality & Engineering functions to ensure airworthiness.
Must have:
  • Inspect assemblies and components using manuals and drawings.
  • Raise non-conformances and overcheck critical build assemblies.
  • Work to set deadlines and achieve performance targets.
  • Ensure products meet technical and quality specifications.
  • Maintain high Health & Safety standards.
  • Participate in continual review and improvement processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality & Engineering Functions daily.
  • Possess a recognised Skilled Time-served apprenticeship or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3.
  • Demonstrate experience using engineering equipment and interpreting drawings.
  • Provide all certifications before interview.
Good to have:
  • Relevant Inspection experience with engine/complex assembly components.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and process basics.

Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 skilled Repair of Spares Inspectors to join us at the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility in Derby.

The EOS facility is operational for 20 hours a day, 365 days a year; as the only wholly owned Large Engine MRO facility, with capability to maintain all modern Trent engines, EOS is fundamental to the future success of Civil Aerospace.

Working as part of a high performing team, the Repair of Spares Inspectors will be responsible for delivering the Non-Shop Visit (WID) activity requested of EOS, contributing to both our tactical and strategic load.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of assemblies and components using the direction of Engine Manuals, Work Instructions, Technical Information & drawings and using the information to ensure that all Engine components are serviceable or need repair/replacing.
  • The skilled Inspector will work as part of the Overhaul Team to raise non-conformances, overcheck critical build assemblies & components and ensure the engine configuration is correct to customer or regulatory requirement.
  • Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and customer delivery commitments.
  • Working in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications.
  • Ensuring Health & safety is always kept to a high standard.
  • Participating in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice.
  • Work in collaboration with Quality & Engineering Functions daily to ensure airworthiness is of the highest standard.

Education required

  • It is essential that candidates possess a recognised Skilled Time-served apprenticeship OR Advanced Modern Apprenticeship within a mechanical/engineering discipline AND an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • We will also accept equivalent qualifications gained through service within the Armed Forces providing they meet the requirement.

  • Must be able to provide all certifications before interview.
