As Resident Engineer, you’ll act as the key technical interface between the customer and Aptiv, taking ownership of troubleshooting and driving resolution of complex system issues on-site. Working on ADAS Gen 6 projects, you’ll support a wide range of components—from radar and ultrasonic sensors to driver/passenger monitoring and central compute units—across L0 to L2+ autonomous driving. You’ll be hands-on with hardware and software, gathering requirements, analyzing issues, and ensuring timely delivery of features like cruise control, AEB, road sign recognition, and more.
Your role:
- Escalation of Technical Issues and Conflicting Activities to team leadership
- Ownership of customer problems, troubleshooting and driving corrective action.
- Responsible for coordination and delivery of the product solution hand-over to customer at milestones.
- Act as an interface between customer and APTIV
- Develop and debug test system configuration
- Identify component integration issues, and drive them to resolution by working with cross functional teams
- Support vehicle instrumentation to setup to record CAN data, post-process and analyze to resolve bugs and make performance improvements
- Perform evaluation road drives from system integration perspective.
- Verify system functionality and report defects on tested functions.
- Work on “Problem Ticket Analysis” and identifying the problem root cause.
- Gather any additional necessary customer information, e.g. milestone plans, contact persons, prototype needs, etc. and provide this to the product development team
- Facilitate access to customer specific tools and information systems for APTIV team members
- Support the team to provide data to customer specific information systems
- Support resolution of open issues and product testing at customer site
- Cooperate with the different R&D functions (SW, HW, Component Design and Application)
Your background:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Physics or equivalent discipline
- 1+ Years’ Experience in Software Development/Support of Electronic Control (Systems Engineering, Hard- & Software Engineering, Embedded Software Development)
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge about Product Development Processes or Software Development Processes (e.g.Spice), ideally founded experience in ISO26262 process or similar
- Experience Embedded System Testing and debugging / root cause analysis Familiar with CAN Tools or similar debugging and configuration tools.
- ADAS/AD system bring up on both bench level and vehicle level, alternatively experience within embedded system bring-up – not essential.
