Join us in ensuring we have the right skills in the right place to build Total War through constantly improving talent, helping to set the "shape" of the studio's workforce. The successful candidate will create a strategic operational approach to manage the shape of the franchise's workforce, enabling long-term talent assessment, planning and fulfillment. They will also manage day-to-day, and week-to-week capability availability, and coordinate with peer Production staff regarding assignments, deployments, training and other related tasks. Throughout they will provide observations, recommendations and arbitration to improve appropriate matching of skills and capabilities to project needs. Equally, they will coordinate regularly with HR partners on individual and team skills, performance evaluation vs.needed capabilities and participate in performance improvement plans, recruiting and related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Strategically
- Assess the overall "shape" of the Total War workforce, and provide long-term approach and plans to match capabilities to deliverables on roadmaps and in plans.
- Set standards for roles by defining capabilities, skillsets, and experiences for all disciplines and across all seniority levels.
- Coordinate with Production to create talent roadmaps to deliver current and future Total War product plans.
- Coordinate with HR to roll out standards, apply them fairly, manage performance and aid in recruitment.
- Coordinate with Finance to manage hiring location considerations.
- Forecast Total War long-term resourcing needs and predict future resourcing pain points or bottlenecks.
Day-to-Day
- Track and manage the different disciplines on the team and how they are deployed across Total War projects.
- Assist the Development Directors' capacity and capability planning for their project needs and contribute to resolving conflicts.
- Provide and present data insights on our current teams' profiles (for example skills gaps, seniority profiles).
- Help drive our internal recruitment process, by evaluating needs, raising hiring requisitions (OMCs) for new hires.
- Foster a collaborative working environment across different geographical locations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a resource manager.
- Strategic process development and deployment, focused on teams, talent, skills and capabilities.
- Scenario planning and evaluation, with excellent problem-solving skills, for example: being aware of potential and current resource issues and offering practical and realistic plans to resolve them.
- Multi-project or -product environment, for example: multiple projects underway simultaneously with different release or launch dates and talent needs.
- Risk management: identify and assess risks plus communicate ways to mitigate them.
- Scheduling, tracking and reporting of resources across multi-disciplinary teams working in different geographic locations.
- Support and work within a team of ~200, enabling the team to perform in a united way, with a clear understanding of resource allocation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including: small group workshops, reporting to teams of ~50-200, reporting to executives.
- Enthusiastically focused and self-motivated, for example: able to identify resourcing gaps, detail the criteria for success according to project needs, formulate plans and take next steps, constantly understanding appropriate responsibility and authority.
- Always looking for ways to improve our process, team or project, for example: documenting ways of working, ensuring consistent application across the team reviewing and auditing them, introducing change management processes as needed.
- Excellent knowledge and experience using MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Desirable
- Experience with Runn.io or other similar resource management software.
- Experience with Atlassian (Jira and Confluence)
- Familiar with co-development or outsourcing.
- Exposure to and/or a genuine passion for games.
