About the role

We are looking for a forward-thinking and automation-driven leader to join our revenue accounting function. This is a unique opportunity to modernize and transform our revenue processes, tackling technical debt, optimizing close cycles and building a best-in-class foundation to support Rippling’s rapid growth. This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about working with data and systems to streamline processes and drive efficiency.

As the Revenue Transformation Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Revenue Accounting and will be a key partner to our Engineering, Product, Business Development, Data, Financial Systems and FP&A teams. You will be responsible for re-imagining our current state and architecting scalable, end-to-end solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting combined with a passion for process engineering, automation and a track record of executing complex, cross-functional projects.

What you'll do

  • Lead the strategic transformation of the revenue accounting function, mapping existing processes, identifying key bottlenecks, and developing a roadmap for future-state enhancements.
  • Analyze current revenue processes and data flows to identify areas for improvement and automation.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize the month-end revenue close cycle and take ownership of assigned processes.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the Revenue Accounting function and technical partners, including Engineering, Business Development, Product, Data, Financial Systems and FP&A teams, to implement solutions that drive accuracy and efficiency.
  • Foster deep cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative and scalable revenue solutions that adhere to stringent controls while remaining adaptable to evolving business needs.
  • Manage transformation projects from design to execution, including documenting requirements, designing new processes, and conducting user acceptance testing to ensure the timely operationalization of new procedures.
  • Partner with our consultants to execute recommendations and lead ad-hoc projects aimed at improving the accuracy and timeliness of revenue reporting.

What you'll need

  • A minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience, with a demonstrated blend of revenue accounting and finance transformation/systems roles.
  • Proven track record of leading finance or revenue-focused transformation projects (e.g., process re-engineering and automation, system implementation, close optimization).
  • Hands-on experience with a large volume of data and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using SQL to query and analyze data, or a strong passion to learn (Snowflake is a plus).
  • An understanding of ASC 606, particularly in a SaaS environment with complex revenue streams is a plus. A CPA and Big 4 public accounting experience are strongly preferred.
  • A motivated self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to execute with results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
