About the role
This position involves a flexible work schedule with a minimum of 24 hours per week, which can increase up to 35 hours per week depending on the needs of the store and your availability. We are looking for a colleague who is willing to work flexibly, including during weekends, shopping Sundays, and peak periods, and who wants to commit long-term to a dynamic retail environment.
A day in the life
As a sales associate, you are responsible for excellent customer service: welcoming customers, advising, and guiding them with your fashion and product knowledge. You ensure a tidy store by refilling clothing and maintaining its presentation. Together with your team, you contribute to an optimal customer experience.
Working at H&M means no two days are the same, but a typical day consists of the following responsibilities:
Customer sales and profit:
- Provide excellent customer service: welcome customers and guide them through the store & OMNI experience as soon as it is available, supporting them with direct customer service.
- Be willing to engage with customers to guide them through our fashion trends, stories & products in all parts of the store, thus providing excellent customer service.
- Actively promote our customer loyalty app (Hello Member) & sustainability initiatives in the store.
- Together with the store management team, provide support for commercial or operational actions to achieve sales targets.
- Positively represent yourself and the H&M brand during all customer interactions.
Fashion and trend awareness:
- Stay informed about fashion trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers, etc.
- Use your product and fashion knowledge to share relevant information with customers.
Retail Operations/ Visual & Commercial execution:
- Complete the full clothing cycle from unpacking and refilling and ensure good clothing care, stock levels with replenishment routines on the sales floor.
- Operate fitting rooms and cash registers according to H&M standards and procedures.
- Contribute to a clean and tidy sales floor (including stock rooms).
- Support clothing presentation, execute and maintain attractive displays, clear trends, and stories according to visual and commercial guidelines.
- Keep up with and follow best practices for all in-store OMNI Services & in-store technical services/tools, etc (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store etc).
- Support with opening and closing the store.
- Follow all H&S guidelines and legal requirements applicable to the role and responsibilities.
