Job Description

The Sales Manager will actively manage, expand, and build relationships with key public sector clients, including districts, administrative regions, cities, municipalities, communal companies, and data centers. The role involves advising clients on digital products, with a focus on the research platform for digital legal publications (Wolters Kluwer Online) and the software-based expert solution eGoVPraxis. Key responsibilities include comprehensive customer support, identifying new sales potential, acquiring new customers, building long-term business relationships, and managing offers, negotiations, and contract closures. The position reports to the Head of Field Sales.

Must Have:
  • Ensure comprehensive support for existing customers and develop them through targeted upselling and cross-selling.
  • Analyze sales territory, identify new sales potential, and independently acquire and develop new customers.
  • Systematically build robust and long-term business relationships and maintain active contact.
  • Responsible for creating offers, negotiating them, and closing contracts with customers.
  • Report directly to the Head of Field Sales.
  • Completed degree in economics or comparable education/qualification.
  • Several years of experience in sales of digital specialist information services and/or products requiring explanation.
  • Proven high negotiation skills at specialist and decision-making level.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills.
  • Customer and goal-oriented thinking.
  • Experience with independent analysis and proactive customer development.
  • User knowledge of common Office products and CRM systems.
  • Very good German and good English language skills.
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 days/week.

  • You ensure comprehensive support for your existing customers and develop them through targeted upselling and cross-selling.
  • You analyze your sales territory, identify new sales potential, and independently acquire and develop new customers.
  • You systematically build robust and long-term business relationships and maintain active and sustainable contact.
  • You are responsible for creating offers, negotiating them, and closing contracts with customers.
  • You report directly to the Head of Field Sales.

Your Profile

  • You have a completed degree in economics or a comparable education/qualification.
  • You have several years of experience in the sale of digital specialist information services and/or products or services requiring explanation.
  • Ideally, you have experience with customers in the public sector.
  • The acquisition of new customers is a matter of course for you.
  • You have proven high negotiation skills at specialist and decision-making level, very good communication and presentation skills, and think customer and goal-oriented.
  • You have experience with independent analysis and proactive development of customers.
  • User knowledge of common Office products and handling CRM systems are a matter of course for you.
  • Very good German and good English language skills complete your profile.
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 days/week.
