Motorola Solutions is a global company focused on critical communications, video security, and command center technologies for public safety and enterprises. The Quality Department supports customer fulfillment and manufacturing in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality. This role involves coordinating supplier improvement actions, verifying quality standards for the Alsdorf Distribution Center, and managing the supply chain. Key responsibilities include problem identification, corrective action implementation, performance monitoring, and quality record maintenance.
Must have:
  • Identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions via MCAR.
  • Serve as liaison for suppliers and manage supply chain for Distribution Centre and Manufacturing sites.
  • Monitor Suppliers performance to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Increase quality reliability using engineering skills for product transition.
  • Take part in local Quality Audits and Regulatory Compliance audits.
  • Local Maintenance of the Suppliers Quality Ranking System.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics and manage process controls.
  • Report and maintain accurate quality records, certifications, and database screens.
  • Prioritize critical cases addressing Customer complaints.
  • Support quality improvement processes/projects at internal or external sites.
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical/science field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Supplier/Supply Chain quality roles.
  • Solid technical knowledge of products, systems, and integrated solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of quality standards and improvement methods.
  • Proficiency in English and German languages.

Department Overview

The Quality Department supports the customer fulfillment and manufacturing facilities within the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. On-time delivery of orders and outstanding levels of delivered quality are key to our customers’ satisfaction. In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating improvement actions with our suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of our Distribution Center in Alsdorf, Germany.

Job Description

  • Identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions as well as ensuring structural quality and process improvements via the Motorola Corrective Action Request System (MCAR). This system is a fully automated problem resolution based on the 8D discipline.
  • Serve as the liaison for suppliers and manage the supply chain for both Distribution Centre as well as Motorola Manufacturing sites.
  • Monitor Suppliers performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Increase quality reliability, use engineering skills to regulate product transition requirements.
  • Take part in local Quality Audits and Regulatory Compliance audits.
  • Local Maintenance of the Suppliers Quality Ranking System.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback and manage process controls, establishing schedules for reviewing supplier and quality performance.
  • Report and maintain accurate quality records, certifications, and database screens.
  • Prioritize critical cases addressing Customer complaints associated with the products delivered to them.
  • Support quality improvement processes/projects at internal or external sites

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical/science field, Master is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Supplier/ Supply Chain quality roles, experience with Distribution Centers and Product Manufacturing processes is welcomed.
  • Solid technical knowledge, (products, systems, complex integrated solutions).
  • In depth understanding of quality standards and quality improvement methods.
  • Experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies as certified Belt is an advantage.
  • Problem-solving mindset as well as an attitude to follow through on plans.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency in English and German languages are necessary to communicate with the local team in Alsdorf and interact with the remote sites in the USA and Asia.
