Room 8 Group is seeking an SDET to design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for games. This role involves creating automated tests for game features, APIs, and services, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and developing custom tools to enhance testing efficiency. The SDET will collaborate with development and QA teams, provide technical guidance, champion code quality, and debug complex issues, contributing to a flawless gaming experience across various platforms.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development or a technical QA role.
  • Proven experience in improving test automation frameworks or designing and implementing them from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with Game Engines or Game Development.
  • Demonstrable experience with API testing and automation.
  • Strong programming skills in C# for GameDriver and Unity Engine.
  • Proficiency with .NET testing frameworks such as NUnit or xUnit.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, TeamCity).
  • Familiarity with test management and bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Advanced English proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with the GameDriver test automation tool.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and autonomously.

Room 8 Group is an end-to-end strategic partner in external game development. Working across all platforms, we provide creative and technical expertise across game development, technology, art, trailers, and QA for AAA and AA games.

Our QA team specializes in both manual and automated testing, ensuring every game delivers a flawless experience for players. With expertise in bug testing, performance optimization, functionality checks and more, we guarantee top-quality results on any platform.

Superpowers you have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development or a technical QA role.

Becoming part of Room 8 Group, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks and infrastructure for our games.
  • Create and implement automated tests for new and existing game features, APIs, and services.
  • Integrate automated testing into our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to provide rapid feedback to the development teams.
  • Develop custom tools and utilities to improve testing efficiency, reporting, and defect analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, designers, Test Automation Engineers and QA analysts to identify automation opportunities and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Test Automation Engineers on the effective use of our test automation frameworks and tools, including GameDriver.
  • Champion code quality and best practices through active participation in code reviews for both game code and test automation code.
  • Investigate and debug complex technical issues, and contribute to the resolution of technical challenges.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in game development, test automation, and quality assurance.
