Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Seasonal Tax Provision Preparer to support our year-end tax provision process across U.S. and Canadian entities, including consolidation under IFRS. This is a recurring seasonal role running from January through May each year.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in U.S. and Canadian corporate income tax provisions, hands-on experience with consolidated reporting, and a deep understanding of IFRS tax accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review year-end income tax provisions for U.S. and Canadian entities in accordance with IFRS.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated tax provision reports, including effective tax rate analysis, current and deferred tax calculations, and footnote disclosures.
- Collaborate with internal Finance, Tax, and external audit teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax balances.
- Analyze temporary and permanent differences and track changes in deferred tax balances.
- Support internal controls and documentation requirements for provision processes.
- Assist with reconciliations, audit requests, and other ad hoc tax-related tasks during the year-end close cycle.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of tax provision reporting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax provision preparation, with hands-on experience in both U.S. and Canadian corporate tax.
- Strong understanding of IFRS tax accounting and reporting standards.
- Experience with consolidated tax provision reporting and effective tax rate calculations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines during the year-end close period.
