Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on semiconductor equipment in the EPI production area. This includes tasks such as troubleshooting and repairing electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities also involve particle inspection, partitioning, routine maintenance, and consumable changes for equipment like ASM EPSILON E-2000 reactors and various exhaust abatement systems. The role requires a strong understanding of SPC, 5s, FDC systems, hand tool usage, and calibrated measurement tools. The candidate will also be expected to communicate effectively, stand for extended periods, and lift objects up to 50 pounds. The position involves working compressed shifts and potentially requires training others.
Must have:
  • Perform maintenance on EPI semiconductor equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of SPC and 5s
  • Proficient with hand tools and measurement tools
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Good to have:
  • Experience with ASM EPSILON E-2000 reactors
  • Experience with Bio-rad FTIR
  • Experience with ThermoFlex 5000 TCS Chiller
  • Experience with vacuum bag sealers
  • Experience with metrology equipment
  • Familiarity with exhaust abatement systems (ATLAS, AirGard, EcoGuard)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interface with internal and external groups
  • Ability to complete documentation and train others
  • AA, AS, AAS in electronics or related discipline
  • Specific knowledge of semiconductor maintenance

The candidate(s) selected will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in Chandler Fab EPI areas.

The technician position is responsible for effectively executing tasks and activities that are required to maintain primarily the toolsets and support equipment within the EPI production area that will include:

  • ASM EPSILON E-2000 Reduced Pressure Single Wafer Epitaxial Reactors
  • Helium & Hydrogen leak checkers
  • Exhaust abatement: ATLAS, AirGard, EcoGuard
  • Bio-rad FTIR
  • ThermoFlex 5000 TCS Chiller
  • Vacuum bag sealer
  • Operation of associated metrology equipment

The tasks and activities include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic and mechanical systems, particle inspection and partitioning, scheduled maintenance, consumable changes, and various other activities relevant to the success of the area. The desired candidate should have a solid understanding of SPC, 5s, FDC systems, hand tool use, calibrated measurement tool use (oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, torque wrench, etc.), and demonstrate problem solving skills. The position requires the ability to interface with other internal and external groups to ensure all safety, performance, and reliability requirements are satisfied.  The desired candidate will be required to complete documentation and train others.

The desired candidate will be required to effectively communicate using written and verbal skills, stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours), and be physically able to perform required tasks which may include stooping, crawling in confined spaces, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds.

The position requires working compressed shifts, days or nights.

Education:

AA, AS, AAS, in electronics or other industrial engineering related discipline is preferred. Education along with experience or military training may satisfy formal education requirements.

Experience:

Specific knowledge of semiconductor maintenance job functions is required.
