About the Business Unit Tax & Accounting Software (TAA)

The Business Unit Tax & Accounting Software develops and sells products for tax and accounting professionals. Our BU offers a wide range of software solutions: ERP software; accounting, financial and tax advisory, and practice management software.

About the role

We are hiring a Senior Product Owner to join one of our BE TAA technology teams. These teams are responsible for the development and technical maintenance of our tax & accounting portfolio in the Belgium market, consisting of both on-premise and cloud products in various domains such as personal and corporate tax, accounting, ERP & e-invoicing.

As a Senior Product Owner, you will work closely with Product and Technology Management to translate the roadmap into actionable work for the engineering team. You will be the voice of the customer and the business within the development team, ensuring that we deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing features.

Representing the product(s) that your development team maintains, you will be the main point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding both technical and functional questions.

You will report directly to the Product Software Engineering Manager and benefit from a hybrid working model, combining office presence in Hasselt with remote work from home.

  • Has a strong background in taxation, with a particular focus on personal income tax.
  • Is interested in helping us translate our strategy into qualitative solutions
  • Can communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Product Owner, you will play a key role in providing direction for the development team in order to build and maintain our software products.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Product Manager to define and prioritize the backlog
  • Learning how the current products are built and being able to add functionalities or solve problems
  • Translating high-level roadmap items into more detailed features and user stories with technical requirements
  • Working closely with the development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and priorities
  • Identifying dependencies from or to other development teams
  • Driving sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review sessions to ensure the delivery of the identified needs
  • Ensuring timely delivery of features that meet quality and performance standards
  • Reporting to the DRTE and both Product and Technology Management on the team’s progress
  • Identifying risks which might impact the delivery of features
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding product capabilities and providing support to both our Customer Support and Professional Services Team
  • Monitoring product KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
