Job Summary
Tide is seeking a UK-qualified Senior Corporate Legal Counsel to join its cross-functional legal team. This role involves leading strategic corporate projects, including M&A and fundraising, and debt financing transactions to support global expansion. The counsel will also assist with new market entry, employee equity schemes, corporate structure, and provide general corporate and employment law advisory support, collaborating with various teams and managing external counsel.
Must Have
- UK-qualified counsel with 4+ PQE in corporate and/or finance law.
- Lead strategic corporate projects including M&A and fundraising.
- Lead debt financing transactions for international expansion.
- Support new market entry initiatives and entity establishment.
- Assist in managing Tide’s employee equity incentive schemes.
- Review and update global corporate structure and intercompany agreements.
- Provide general corporate advisory support on various matters.
- Good working knowledge of UK company law, including equity fundraising, M&A, corporate governance, intra-group transactions, and entity establishment.
Good to Have
- Experience in debt financing (highly desirable).
- Experience with employee equity incentives.
- Experience in employment law.

We are a close-knit team of 18 lawyers based in the UK, Germany, France, India and Bulgaria. We are one of the most cross-functional teams in the company, helping Tideans accomplish their goals, grow the company and stay compliant.

We are looking for a UK-qualified counsel who will join as a critical part of our team to help meet growing business needs and support our ambitious expansion plans.
As Senior Corporate Legal Counsel, you will have the opportunity to lead a wide range of legal initiatives in the corporate, finance, and commercial areas, providing strategic advice in a cross-jurisdictional context. You will be able to lend your skills to a number of business areas across Tide with regular exposure to senior business stakeholders.
As Senior Corporate Legal Counsel - you’ll be;
- Acting as lead counsel on strategic corporate projects including M&A and fundraising
- Leading debt financing transactions to fund Tide’s international expansion and growing product offering
- Helping expand Tide’s global footprint by supporting new market entry initiatives and coordinating new entity establishment
- Assisting in the management of Tide’s employee equity incentive schemes
- Reviewing and updating our global corporate structure and intercompany agreements
- Providing general corporate advisory support on a wide range of matters
- Supporting the People team on a variety of employment law matters
- Collaborating with teams across the company to help achieve company-wide goals
- Instructing, managing, and coordinating external legal counsel across various jurisdiction
What we are looking for
- You are an enthusiastic and detail-oriented legal counsel with 4+ PQE experience in corporate and/or finance law, some of which should have been gained in a reputable UK law firm.
- You have your sights firmly set on working in a global fintech company and are ready to take on a strategic role.
- You’re hungry to learn more and partner with your stakeholders to help them achieve their goals.
- You shine in a challenging environment, love tackling new challenges, and thrive on the success of a job well done.
- You’ll have good working knowledge of technical areas of company law in the UK, particularly:
- Equity fundraising
- M&A transactions
- Corporate governance
- Intra-group transactions
- General company law issues concerning entity establishment and maintenance
- In addition, you may have some experience of:
- Debt financing (highly desirable but not required)
- Employee equity incentives
- Employment law
- You’ll be strategically and commercially aware with an appreciation of the business, and ideally tax, context within which commercial advice applies.
- You’ll have the ability to build strong relationships with senior executives and stakeholders across the business.
