Autodesk is the company that empowers our customers to Make Anything. The Autodesk Enterprise Security Team is the group responsible for protecting our global workforce from threats. The Autodesk Enterprise Security Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data Security Engineer. In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for protecting sensitive data across the organization by designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls that ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data assets. You will work in partnership with our Trust organization to identify risks, secure data workflows, and enforce best practices for data security. This is a hybrid role based in Bengaluru, India.
Must have:
  • Design and implement prioritized data protection strategies across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Utilize Microsoft Security tools suite (Purview, Defender) to develop & manage data governance and compliance policies.
  • Apply encryption, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and other safeguards to protect sensitive data.
  • Define, implement, and support process and technology enhancements to drive “safe” user behavior by default.
  • Contribute to the broader Data Security roadmap through observed security risk, user feedback, and operational scalability.
  • Create documentation, diagrams, and knowledge base articles for internal use.
  • 5+ years of experience in data security engineering, data governance & compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data security concepts including encryption, access control, data classification, and privacy.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender and/or CrowdStrike DLP, including practical experience in their deployment and management.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with DLP tools, and cloud-native data security features.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable
  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Experience with database security, structured/unstructured data protection, and data discovery tools
  • Experience operating and/or deploying enterprise services with user-impacting components
