Job Summary
MerQube is a fintech firm focused on building advanced technology for indexing and rules-based investing, utilizing a cloud-native platform. They are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Bangalore, India, to join their Platform Engineering team. This role involves owning and operating cloud infrastructure and data platforms that power MerQube’s index computation and analytics systems, working closely with engineering and data teams.
Must Have
- Design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code
- Deploy and manage Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and ETL pipelines
- Operate and scale Kafka-based streaming systems
- Support and maintain ETL pipelines and data-processing infrastructure
- Design and operate database systems (relational and NoSQL), including backups and recovery
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for secure and reliable deployments
- Operate containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and EKS
- Ensure availability, performance, monitoring, and operational reliability of production systems
- Improve security, IAM, secrets management, and compliance practices
- Lead incident response and mentor engineers on DevOps best practices
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with Airflow, Kafka, ETL pipelines, and data platforms
- Experience setting up and operating databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis)
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and EKS
- Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and security fundamentals

Role Summary
