Job Description

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining Neustar commercial services. This role requires experience in systems engineering and cloud automation, critical thinking, and strong coding skills for automating repeatable tasks. The candidate must be highly organized with strong communication skills and a mindset for continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include designing and automating cloud infrastructure, providing technology assessments, automating operational processes, and driving improvements for production and non-production systems to ensure maximum efficiency and security. The role also involves ensuring compliance with legal, infosec, and privacy concerns, automating the SDLC, business continuity/disaster recovery, participating in 24x7 on-call rotations, and leading root cause analysis for service performance incidents.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of SRE/DevOps production operation
  • Experience building cloud infrastructure in AWS or GCP
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Expertise in CI/CD, APM, and alerting systems
  • Experience in multiple scripting languages (Python, Bash)
  • Experience with Jenkins files, Groovy, GoLang
  • Experience supporting containerized workloads (Kubernetes)
  • Strong cloud automation experience (Terraform, Docker, Ansible)
  • Expertise with cloud monitoring and management systems
  • Expertise in DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Jira)
  • Expertise in management tools (Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch, StackDriver)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience operating in an agile development environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Good to have:
  • AWS/GCP Certification or Solution Architecture Certification
  • Strong governance model knowledge
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with ITSM processes and tools (Jira JSM)

Job Duties

Responsible for the design, creation, configuration and delivery of cloud infrastructure environments using automation best practices and a proactive strategy.

Responsible for automating the infrastructure build in cloud environments.

Responsible for providing technology assessments in support of automation and migration to cloud.

Responsible for automation of operational processes.

Responsible for developing and driving improvements, maintaining/monitoring production and non-production systems, ensuring platforms perform at maximum efficiency and security.

Responsible for developing and driving systems to ensure compliance, legal, infosec, and privacy concerns are addressed in deployed product components.

Automate the full SDLC lifecycle process for application and infrastructure as code workloads

Automate business continuity/disaster recovery

Participate in rotational 24x7 on call

Lead root cause analysis for service performance incidents

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications/Education 5+ years of SRE/DevOps production operation in large scale, Internet facing infrastructure AWS/GCP Certification or Solution Architecture Certification are a plus. Direct experience building cloud-based infrastructure solutions in AWS or GCP with a strong governance model knowledge. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS/Debian) and its fundamentals. Expertise in continuous integration, continuous deployment, application performance monitoring, and alerting systems Experience in multiple scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) Experience with Jenkins files, Groovy, GoLang Experience in supporting containerized workloads (e.g. EKS, GKE, Kubernetes) Strong cloud automation experience with tools such as Terraform, Docker, Ansible etc. Expertise with cloud monitoring and management systems Expertise in DevOps tools Jenkins, Git, Jira Expertise in management tools Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch, StackDriver Experience in working in/with Agile processes (Scaled Agile Framework/SAFe preferred) and tools (preferrably Jira) Experience in working in/with ITSM processes (incident management, problem management, change management, configuration management) and tools (preferably Jira JSM) Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong understanding and experience operating in an agile development environment. Ability to multitask, work well under pressure and prioritize work against competing deadlines and changing business priorities Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
