Job Summary
Our client is North America's leading school transportation provider, managing 5 million student journeys daily. N-iX is a strategic partner driving their digital transformation, remodeling the technology landscape for 55,000 employees. This role involves implementing and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and incident-response processes, collaborating with teams to resolve infrastructure issues, participating in on-call rotations, and setting up AWS accounts, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure using CloudFormation.
Must Have
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident-response processes
- Collaborate with support and dev teams to investigate and resolve infrastructure-related issues
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical incidents
- Set up AWS accounts and organizational units using AWS security best practices
- Set up complex CI/CD pipelines from scratch using AWS native tools
- Set up and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation
- Communicate with stakeholders for proper integration with customer's infrastructure
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-based multi-account infrastructure on AWS
- Implement AWS security best practices
- Develop and maintain AWS ECS clusters
- Solid expertise with AWS services (VPC, ECS, RDS/Aurora, ALB, CloudFront, API Gateway, Cognito, IAM, SecretsManager)
- Provision and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation
- Set up CI/CD process using AWS native tools (Code commit, deploy, pipeline, build)
- Experience using Datadog or New Relic services
- Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English level
Good to Have
- Experience with AWS DMS and AWS MSK
- Experience working with multi-cloud environments
- Experience working with highly available cross-region applications and respective DR mechanisms

Every day, the company completes 5 million student journeys, moving more passengers than all U.S. airlines combined and delivers reliable, quality services for 1,100 school districts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident-response processes to ensure stability and quick recovery of production environments.
- Collaborate with the support and dev teams to investigate and resolve infrastructure-related issues, providing root-cause analysis and continuous improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support during critical incidents
- Set up AWS accounts and organizational units inside the organization using AWS security best practices
- Set up complex CI/CD pipelines from scratch using AWS native tools
- Set up and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure proper integration with customer's infrastructure
Must-Have Skills:
- Proven work experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a minimum of 5+ years.
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-based multi-account infrastructure on AWS
- Experience implementing AWS security best practices
- Develop and maintain AWS ECS clusters, ensuring scalability, high availability, and optimal performance
- Solid expertise with AWS services such as: VPC, ECS, RDS/Aurora, ALB, CloudFront, API Gateway, Cognito, IAM, SecretsManager
- Provision and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation
- Set up CI/CD process using AWS native tools (Сode commit, deploy, pipeline, build)
- Experience using Datadog or New Relic services
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
- Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English level
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with AWS DMS and AWS MSK
- Experience working with multi-cloud environments
- Experience working with (or implementing) highly available cross-region applications and respective DR mechanisms
