Job Description

As a Senior Editor for the AOL Editorial Team, you will lead, support, and shape stories for millions of AOL users daily. This role involves overseeing and programming daily and niche newsletters, executing coverage plans for major events, and managing publisher relationships. You will track content performance, collaborate with various teams, and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving media environment, bringing an enthusiastic and solutions-oriented approach to your work.
Must Have:
  • Oversee and program AOL Daily and niche newsletters, including content curation, headline writing, scheduling, and performance tracking.
  • Support special projects and collaborate with editorial, product, and other teams.
  • Execute coverage plans for tentpole events across various content categories.
  • Track content metrics and analytics to understand evolving audience interests.
  • Manage relationships with important publishers and content partners.
  • Possess at least 8+ years of editorial experience in writing or content programming on high-traffic websites.
  • Familiarity and experience with complex web content management systems, information architecture, and metadata.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Enterprise, AP style, and copy-editing.

As a Senior Editor for the AOL Editorial Team you will lead, support and help shape the stories watched and read daily by millions of AOL users. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and program AOL Daily newsletter including curation of content, headline writing, scheduling, and tracking performance
  • Oversee and program additional small suite of niche newsletters including curation of content, headline writing, scheduling, and tracking performance
  • Support special projects associated with development and growth, collaborating with editorial, product and other teams as needed
  • Help execute coverage plans for tentpole events across a variety of content categories, including News, Entertainment, Sports and more
  • Closely track metrics and analytics of content to stay abreast of evolving interests across our ecosystem
  • Manage relationships with important publishers and content partners

About You:

  • At least 8+ years of editorial experience writing or content programming on high-traffic websites
  • Familiarity and experience with complex web content management systems, information architecture and metadata
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high degree of professionalism over email and in person
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Proficiency in Google Enterprise, AP style, copy-editing

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
