Job Description

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Experience Designer for the Product Data team to advance interoperability. This role involves creating high-quality, data-driven user experiences to empower customers in discovering, accessing, and augmenting their data. The designer will redefine the intersection of design and technology, championing ideas that drive digital transformation and innovation across various industries. Responsibilities include analytical advisory, problem-solving, and applying best practices in UX design.
Good To Have:

Must Have:
  • Conduct research related to problem framing and solutioning
  • Communicate and align teams on research synthesis and findings
  • Design workflows, interactions, and interfaces with varying levels of fidelity
  • Use customer insights derived from analytics and customer interactions to inform business and design decisions
  • Create XD deliverables for the products you support to advocate for users and the solutions that support their needs
  • Visualize and prototype intended solutions; meet and collaborate with users and development partners to validate conceptual designs
  • Deliver design documentation for consumption of the product teams
  • Review feature implementation, test plans, and documentation to ensure accuracy of desired application results
  • Participate in presentations and discussions internally & externally to drive alignment on proposed features and functionality
  • Partner with development teams to drive successful implementation of user experience design specifications
  • Participate in Design Reviews and model best practices for giving and receiving feedback
  • 5+ years of related professional experience in UX design
  • Demonstrated experience wireframing, prototyping, designing workflows and interactions using a range of tools and formats at multiple levels of fidelity
  • Up-to-date expertise in human-centered design best practices
  • Experience working collaboratively with global development teams and product managers to deliver usable and desired value to customers
  • Excellent ability to distill complex ideas, and large amounts of data and viewpoints, to their essence
  • Experience presenting designs to multiple audiences, including software development, product managers, research, & content
  • Demonstrated experience in research such as contextual interviews, ethnography, user testing
  • Technical understanding for APIs, SDKs, data models, data exchanges, connectors, and data management
  • Proficiency in Figma and ability to convey design ideas via sketches, storyboards, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, or animations
  • Strong storytelling skills with experience working in a multidisciplinary environment to develop concepts that delight customers and deliver business results
  • Ability to implement strategic and conceptual thinking
  • High-quality design work that demonstrates deep design thinking
  • Strong information presentation - visual and written - skills

Autodesk invites practiced and insightful designers to join our Product Data team as a Senior XD. In this role, you will empower our customers to discover, access, and augment their data seamlessly by creating high-quality, data-driven, and impactful user experiences. You will be instrumental in redefining the intersection of design and technology across various industries and championing design ideas that drive digital transformation and fuel innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Analytical advisor role that requires understanding of the theories and concepts of a discipline and the ability to apply best practices
  • A common career stabilization point (AKA the “full-contributor” level) for Professional roles
  • Require knowledge and experience such that the incumbent can understand the full range of relevant principles, practices, and practical applications within their discipline
  • Solve complex problems of diverse scope by taking a new perspective on existing solutions and applying knowledge of best practices in practical situations
  • Use data analysis, judgment, and interpretation to select the right course of action
  • Apply creativity in recommending variations in approach
  • “Connect the dots” of assignments to the bigger picture.
  • May lead projects or key elements within a broader project
  • May also have accountability for leading and improving on-going processes
  • Build effective relationships with more senior practitioners and peers, and build a network of external peers
  • Work independently, with close guidance given at critical points
  • May begin to act as a mentor or resource for colleagues with less experience

User/Market Research:

  • Conduct research related to problem framing and solutioning
  • Communicate and align teams on synthesis and findings related to research
  • Build an internal network across products to support platform needs that aid different industries
  • Work with product teams and partner product teams to understand business goals and contribute to achievements towards success metrics
  • Maintain familiarity across the technical landscape to ensure compatibility with proposed feature sets

User Experience Design and Management:

  • Design workflows, interactions, and interfaces with varying levels of fidelity to communicate with peers and partners
  • Use customer insights derived from analytics and customer interactions to inform business and design decisions
  • Create XD deliverables for the products you support to advocate for users and the solutions that support their needs
