Senior iOS Engineer

Welltech is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join their team and contribute to a greenfield product in the Health & Fitness industry. The role involves shaping and co-owning the codebase, driving user needs into end-to-end solutions, and contributing to the system design of the overall product. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support colleagues, and work with a modern technology stack including Swift and SwiftUI. The ideal candidate will have a strong product and business mindset, proven experience in iOS development, and a passion for creating impactful, customer-centric products. Must Have

• Proven impact building new/refactoring large scale products
• Strong product & business mindset
• Experience driving successful products with PMs, Designers
• Relevant iOS development experience
• Ability to choose right tools, learn new tech
• Manage risks, trade-offs, propose solutions
• Advocate for testability, automated tests, shift left
• Learn fast, collaborate cross-functionally, communicate effectively
• Understand OO, functional, declarative paradigms, design patterns
• Strong experience with TCA and composable UI architectures
• Craft clean, maintainable code
• Design for reliability and scalability
• Strong grasp of Swift (concurrency, networking, etc.)
• Experience building complex UIs with SwiftUI
• Implement methodologies for fast iteration (XP, CI/CD, TDD)
• Advocate for patterns optimizing experimentation pace
• Great command of English

Good to Have

• Knowledge of animation libraries (Core Animation, Lottie, SwiftUI animations)
• Experience with backend development
• Experience with data and/or multimedia

What We’re Looking For

Key responsibilities:

• Shape and co-own codebase of a greenfield product as a member of a cross-functional product-engineering team

• Drive turning user needs into solutions end-to-end, from product discovery to supporting our code running in production

• Drive design and development of a greenfield mobile app, and contribute significantly to the system design of the overall product

• Be a trusted partner for product, design, data and other functions, as well as other teams

• Support growth of your team and colleagues

• Work with and contribute to a modern technology stack with Swift, SwiftUI

• Collaborate with other Engineers to constantly push the boundary of technical excellence across iOS and beyond

• Implement cool ideas and have impact on millions of users in a customer-centric environment with high degree of ownership
  

Required skills:

• Proven impact building new and/or refactoring existing large scale customer-facing products

• Very strong product & business mindset. Proven ability to drive building of successful products working closely with Product Managers, Designers, Domain experts

• Relevant experience in iOS development in companies that required a strong product mindset

• Ability to choose the right tool for each challenge, learn new tools and technologies 

• Ability to manage risks, trade-offs and propose efficient solutions

• Strong advocate of design for testability, automated tests, shift left and willingness to work in an environment where engineers own the quality end-to-end

• Ability to learn fast, collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively

• Great understanding of object-oriented, functional and declarative paradigms, design patterns and architectures such as MVVM/MVI, DI

• Strong experience with TCA and composable, modular UI architectures in general

• Ability to craft clean, maintainable code

• Strong ability to design for reliability and scalability 

• Strong grasp of Swift including concurrency, networking, persistence, performance optimization

• Experience building complex, dynamic, and interactive UIs with SwiftUI

• Experience implementing and advocating for methodologies that allow fast iterations and maximise developer productivity, such as eXtreme Programming, Trunk Based Development, CI/CD mindset, BDD, TDD

• Strong advocate of technical patterns and solutions that optimise for pace of experimentation (e.g. backend-driven UI architecture, modularization, high cohesion/low coupling)

• Great command of English
  

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of libraries, tools and approaches for building beautiful animations: Core Animation, Lottie, SwiftUI animations etc
