The senior management position provides, oversees and ensures the delivery of world-class technical support for all aspects of DoD service and sustainment programs. Specifically, the Motorola U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force Global Services and Sustainment Programs provide a multitude of services to the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Army to support their global enterprise systems in 19 countries and territories. Some of these responsibilities include supporting preventative maintenance, break-fix, planning, scheduling, upgrades to the system, cyber security, engineering, project management, developing technical documentation and other technical services consistent with Motorola’s customer needs, contracts and system requirements. Additional responsibilities include overseeing software tools development, financial management, customer interaction, and support of other new or emerging technologies and programs, strategic planning of engineering, system upgrades and cyber strategies within the Risk Management Framework and DoD cyber requirements.
In supporting these global enterprise systems and programs, the primary responsibility of the Senior Manager of the Engineering and Technical Operations Organization is for the service delivery of 4 operational teams: Engineering, Project Management, Technical Documentation and Technical Field Services. This position must ensure that these operational teams remain aligned with all service delivery within all supported programs and continue to be able deliver on commitments and contract requirements, as well as Program needs 100% of the time, even in times of resource shortages. This position manages technical managers and is responsible for overall management and oversight of this organization.
Additionally, this position oversees strategic planning, resource needs and support of all technical resources for not only these customers, but future technologies and products, expanded geographic locations and other programs within the DoD or Federal Government.
- Service Delivery: Supporting preventative maintenance, break-fix solutions, planning, scheduling, system upgrades, cyber security, engineering, and project management.
- Documentation & Tools: Developing technical documentation and overseeing software tools development.
- Management & Strategy: Financial management, customer interaction, supporting new and emerging technologies, and strategic planning for engineering, system upgrades, and cyber strategies within the Risk Management Framework and DoD cyber requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field.
- 10 years of successful management experience, including leading complex projects and programs in dynamic environments, and managing teams, organizations, systems, or contracts.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading technical teams.
- 10 years of experience understanding, working with, interpreting, and supporting technical service contracts and requirements.
- 5 years of experience successfully leading technical teams.
- 5 years of experience in all facets of Technical Project Management.
- 10 years of experience managing resources to ensure timely and efficient delivery of required deliverables, identifying and mitigating risks, and developing and implementing innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives.
- Superior written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively with technical managers, directors, program managers, leadership, customers, and other personnel.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of DoD Cyber Security requirements and accreditation programs, including the Risk Management Framework.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred.
- Experience supporting Motorola ASTRO systems.
- Proficiency in IT Lifecycle Management.
- Skilled in Technical Documentation Development.
- Customer-facing experience supporting DoD service contracts.

- All applicants must be U.S. Citizen and be able to pass a DoD and corporate background check as well as being able to satisfy requirements for a DoD clearance.

Working Location/Travel:
- The working location is remote but must be within the U.S. and all applicants must be able to travel 25% of the time as required.

Target Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $170,000 USD
