Job Description

Instawork seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, and implement ML algorithms for real-time scheduling and workforce optimization. This role involves collaborating with Product to refine the roadmap, building/maintaining performance dashboards, preparing large datasets, and constructing scalable ML pipelines. Responsibilities include integrating ML solutions into production systems, monitoring model performance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience building ML models for business applications, expertise in statistical techniques and ML algorithms, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Python & SQL.

Who You Are

5+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications

Entrepreneurial mindset with a mix of startup and large scale experience, bonus points for being a co-founder

Advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, or similar) and experience with applications

Deep understanding of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, or similar) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks

Strong communication and presentation skills with a natural executive presence

Expert level fluency using languages like Python & SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets

Working knowledge of common web/mobile architectures, data pipelines, CI/CD processes, etc.

Strong understanding of DBT or other similar data transformation/organization methodologies

Experience with BI tools (e.g. Mode, Tableau, Looker)

B.Tech/ B.E or BS/BA in Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms to solve complex problems in real-time scheduling and workforce optimization

Impact key company objectives by working closely with Product to refine our roadmap

Build/maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products

Gather, clean, and prepare large datasets for machine-learning models

Build and maintain machine learning pipelines that are robust, scalable, and efficient

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into production systems

Monitor and evaluate the performance of machine learning models and make continuous improvements
