The Senior Product Marketing Manager will serve as a strategic leader for Anthology’s flagship solution, with a focus on in-product messaging, capability adoption, and content development to support roadmaps and documentation. This role combines deep technical familiarity and marketing expertise to drive customer engagement, feature adoption, and retention through data-driven approaches and cross-functional team leadership.
Primary responsibilities will include:
In-Product Messaging Strategy & Execution
- Defining and leading comprehensive in-product messaging strategy using the Pendo platform to deliver contextual, behavior-triggered communications that drive user engagement and feature discovery
- Collaborating with Product Managers to design and implement user journey mapping to identify key moments for in-product interventions, including onboarding flows, feature announcements, and retention campaigns
- Collaborating with product management to develop contextual feature announcements and guidance that appear at optimal moments in the user experience
Feature Adoption & User Engagement
- Developing and executing feature adoption strategies that move users through the adoption funnel from awareness to consistent usage
- Collaborating with product management to gather and evaluate adoption measurement frameworks including time-to-value, feature adoption rates, user activation metrics, and retention analysis
Team Leadership & Content Strategy
- Managing and developing a team of 3 specialists responsible for roadmap presentations, video content creation, and feature adoption support
- Leading creation of compelling video content and product guides for feature adoption, including product demonstrations, tutorials, and educational resources that simplify complex software functionality
- Overseeing development of high-impact roadmap presentations that communicate product vision and strategy to diverse stakeholder audiences
Documentation & Enablement
- Collaborating across the Product Marketing team to support the development of sales enablement materials and training content that translates product capabilities into customer value propositions
- Supporting Product Marketing in the development of messaging frameworks across Anthology solutions to ensure alignment between in-product communication and broader product marketing efforts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Working closely with product management, product marketing, engineering, and design teams to provide relevant insights into product development based on user behavior and adoption data
- Partnering with regional field marketing teams to localize and adapt messaging strategies for global markets
- Collaborating with customer success teams to identify adoption barriers and develop solutions for improved user experiences
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 8-12 years of B2B product marketing experience, with significant focus on SaaS platforms and user adoption strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of management experience
- Strong expertise in product analytics and ability to translate user behavior data into actionable marketing strategies
- Experience with feature adoption methodologies and understanding of user journey optimization
- Exceptional presentation skills with ability to create compelling narratives for executive audiences and technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment around adoption strategies
- Familiarity with video content marketing for software products and technical documentation creation
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Can-do attitude with passion and enthusiasm
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Proven experience with Pendo platform or similar adoption tools -including analytics, in-app guidance, and user behavior tracking capabilities- is highly preferred.
- Practical experience in education technology sector with understanding of institutional buyer dynamics
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) and inclusive design principles
- Advanced analytics experience with tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar behavioral analytics platforms
While the full salary range for this role is $127,200-$190,200, the expected hiring range for this opening is $127,200-$140,000, depending on experience and budget availability. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
