Nasdaq is seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to join its Trade Surveillance product team, focusing on the new user interface. This role involves working with Product Delivery Specialists, Software Developers, and QA Engineers to build solutions for clients using groundbreaking technologies in an international environment. The ideal candidate will lead a Scrum team, define solutions for customer needs, and manage the definition, development, and delivery of the NTS UI, balancing client desirability, financial viability, and technical feasibility. Regular customer engagement is key to ensure well-defined product requirements.

What will you be doing?

Nasdaq offers a superb opportunity for an experienced Senior Product Owner with a background in finance and curiosity about UI development to join our Nasdaq Trade Surveillance product team. The team is responsible for the new user interface of the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance system. NTS is the leading surveillance system globally and provides an alerting system to compliance teams around the world across various asset classes.

As a Senior Product Owner, you will work closely with Product Delivery Specialists, Software Developers, and QA Engineers to build solutions for our clients, working with groundbreaking technologies in an international environment.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a team member who has experience in leading a Scrum team with a financial background. You will be responsible for defining the best solutions to address our customers needs. You will lead and handle the definition, development, and delivery of NTS UI by balancing client desirability, financial viability, and technical feasibility throughout the product lifecycle. As a Senior Product Owner, you will also engage with customers on a regular basis to ensure that the product requirements are well defined and clear to customers.

  • Implement the Vision – Translate the product strategy into a roadmap, metrics, and desired functionality expressed as requirements in the product backlog.
  • Translate Desires – Communicate the voice of the customer to the team and handle customer expectations as you turn their pains and problems into actionable items in the backlog. Provide mentorship of product functionality to development teams.
  • Prioritize Needs – Understand, define, and communicate the prioritization of product requirements with a mind toward business value, flow, and tradeoffs.
  • Act as a Servant Leader – Actively review business risks, issues, & impediments expressed by the delivery team. Attend agile ceremonies to ensure that development work is aligned with the roadmap.
  • Improve Quality – Build quality into acceptance criteria and accept all work increments produced by the development team. Supervise progress on release and completion. Integrate with the other business product lines and technology to align your product’s strategy with the overall needs advised by the business line and technology executives.
  • Level of Complexity – Manage risks of judgment with a serious impact on the success of your product.
  • Communicate efficiently - Share knowledge on the product to internal teams and to customers with clear documentation.

What we expect:

  • A degree in Business/Finance, or a related subject area or equivalent work experience
  • Several years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Project Manager or in a similar client-facing role
  • Strong complex problem solving skills
  • Driven, curious, and value continuous learning
  • A person who takes initiative and ownership, while also collaborating with others
  • Confident in balancing multiple clients and stakeholders team member
  • Strong analytical, and documentation skills with the ability to communicate business activities and flows
  • Strong English language skills- additional languages are a plus
  • Experience working with agile methodologies is preferable
  • Experience working in surveillance or finance is preferable

  • Monthly base salary gross 3400 - 4500 EUR/month - final offer will be based on your experience and skills
