Motorola Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior QA Engineer to join their software development team. The role involves ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of developers in delivering high-quality software solutions for life-saving cloud-based applications in the security and safety space. You will work on rewriting an application for a public cloud environment (AWS) and maintaining applications on a private cloud. Quality is a shared responsibility, and the focus is on empowering developers to maintain high standards. The position requires proficiency in API testing, strong problem-solving skills, and collaborative teamwork.
Must have:
  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer
  • Strong understanding of testing best practices
  • Proficiency in API testing (Postman, cURL)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Good to have:
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress)
  • Knowledge of performance testing
  • Knowledge of security testing
  • Knowledge of AWS and Docker
  • Experience with Java and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive QA (Quality Assurance) Engineer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our developers as they deliver high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with a team rewriting an application for a public cloud environment (AWS) and maintaining a suite of applications running on a private cloud. In our team, quality is a shared responsibility, and your primary focus will be to facilitate and empower developers to uphold high standards of software quality.


Basic Requirements

Required:

  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer in a software development environment.

  • Strong understanding of testing best practices, tools, and methodologies.

  • Proficiency in API testing using tools such as Postman and cURL.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with developers and other stakeholders.

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (preferred Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit and Mockito).

  • Knowledge of performance testing and security testing practices.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and processes.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of cloud environments with practical experience with AWS, private cloud and deep familiarity with Docker, K8s and serverless architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with Java and JavaScript-based applications, including frameworks like Vue and Angular.

  • Exposure to modern DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code concepts, observability and monitoring tools.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions and BitBucket Pipelines.
