Job Description

As a Senior SDET, you will lead in ensuring software quality and reliability through vast experience in manual and automated testing. You will advance testing strategies, methodologies, and tools, provide testing leadership, mentor junior members, and influence the team to prioritize quality assurance best practices. Key responsibilities include Agile leadership, advanced manual and test automation, comprehensive testing strategy development, defect management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Must Have:
  • Partner with the scrum team, ensuring testing strategies align with sprint and product goals.
  • Advocate for quality and testing best practices within the team.
  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of automation frameworks for Web, API, or ETL products.
  • Ensure integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Strategically design manual & exploratory tests to complement automated tests.
  • Spearhead the development of comprehensive test strategies.
  • Foster a proactive approach to defect prevention.
  • Collaborate closely with development, product management, and other departments.
  • Communicate testing strategies, insights, and results to stakeholders.
  • Relevant work experience in IT.
  • 5+ years of experience as an SDET or in a similar role, with a proven track record of mentorship.
  • Extensive knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Well-versed with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Well-versed with DevOps practices.

Description

As a Senior SDET, you will take the lead in ensuring that our software products meet the highest

standards of quality and reliability. Your vast experience in both manual and automated testing will play

a pivotal role in advancing our testing strategies, methodologies, and tools. Beyond individual

contributions, you will provide testing leadership, mentoring junior members, and influencing the

broader team to prioritise and implement best practices in quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agile Leadership:
  • Partner with the scrum team, ensuring that testing strategies align with sprint and

product goals, setting the tone for a quality-first mindset.

  • Advocate for quality and testing best practices within the team, ensuring that they are

embedded in the development process.

  • Provide thought leadership in testing methodologies, staying updated with emerging

technologies and practices.

  • Advanced Manual & Test Automation:
  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of automation frameworks, ensuring

scalability and robustness for Web, API, or ETL products

  • Ensure integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, promoting rapid feedback

mechanisms.

  • Ensure manual & exploratory tests are strategically designed to complement automated

tests, focusing on areas that require human intuition and insight.

  • Testing Strategy & Expertise:
  • Spearhead the development of comprehensive test strategies that encompass **all facets

of testing, from unit to UI**.

  • Mentor junior team members, elevating the overall QA competency within the team.
  • Defect Management:
  • Foster a proactive approach to defect prevention, promoting early detection

methodologies.

  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate closely with development, product management, and other departments to

promote seamless integration of testing into the product lifecycle.

  • Communicate testing strategies, insights, and results to both technical and non

technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience in IT.
  • 5+ years of experience as an SDET or in a similar role, with a proven track record of mentorship.
  • Extensive knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages, including strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Well-versed with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG), &

DevOps practices.
