Job Summary
The Reference Data Management (RDM) team at Nasdaq is seeking a Specialist - Software Engineer to design, develop, modify, adapt, and implement IT solutions through new and existing applications, systems architecture, and infrastructure. The role involves coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining software solutions, supporting operating systems components, developing security solutions, and providing application software development services. The specialist will also define data flow strategies and implement data normalization and ingestion solutions using technologies like Java, SpringBoot, AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Unix Utilities.
Must Have
- Code, test, debug, implement, and maintain software solutions.
- Support and develop operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.
- Develop security solutions for assignments.
- Define data flow strategy for Nasdaq Back office application.
- Implement data normalization and ingestion solutions using Java, SpringBoot, AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Unix Utilities.
- At least 6 years of experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Sql-Server, Postgres, Microservices architecture, Kubernetes, Unix Commands, shell scripting, Gitlab, CI-CD, Docker.
- AWS developer experience and certifications.

Job Description
Our Reference Data Management (RDM) team is looking for a Specialist - Software Engineer. This team designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture and applications infrastructure.
- Codes, tests, debugs and implements and maintains software solutions with some assistance on complex development tasks.
- Supports, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities with limited supervision.
- Develops security solutions for routine assignments progressing to assignments with growing complexity.
- Provides application software development services or technical support, typically in a defined project often learning from more experienced peers.
- Develops program logic for new applications or analyses and modifies logic in existing applications, often learning on the job from more senior colleagues as size of the challenge increases.
- Modifies existing internal software products to add new functions, adapt to new hardware, improve performance or enhance product usability under limited supervision.
- Implements and monitors routine system improvements to ensure successful installation and increased efficiency.
- Ensures that applications are compatible across multiple computing platforms and browsers.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability explain technical solutions and issues to non-technical customers
- Define a strategy for data flows to meet the requirements of the Nasdaq Back office application
- Implement data normalization and ingestion solutions in JAVA, SpringBoot, AWS using S3, Postgres, Java, Kubernetes and Unix Utilities
- Education Required: Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience Required: At least 6 years
- Key Skills: Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Sql-Server, Postgres, Microservices architecture experience, Kubernetes, Unix Commands and basic shell scripting, Gitlab and CI-CD Knowledge, Docker
- AWS developer experience and certifications
