Verafin - Senior Software Developer (Cloud Environments)

Join our Cloud Environments team as a Senior Software Developer to build and secure cloud infrastructure for Nasdaq Verafin's financial crime management solutions. Focus on automation and disaster recovery, ensuring AWS environments are recovery-ready and customer-protected. Must Have

• Design and build scalable, secure cloud services using Amazon Web Services.
• Automate deployment and monitoring with modern DevOps tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Work with engineering and product teams around the world to deliver features.
• Develop innovative ways to measure and monitor application and infrastructure health.
• Keep improving your craft: writing clean code and continuously iterating on best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience building cloud solutions with Amazon Web Services, including hands-on work with ECS, EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
• Strong skills in Java and Python, with a solid understanding of distributed systems and relational database design and management.
• Experience with Linux systems, virtualization, network administration, and security principles.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments.

Good to Have

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with microservices architecture and data lakes.
• Familiarity with financial services, fintech, or regulated industries.
• Experience with Database Administration.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Development! In this role, you'll help shape how we build and secure the cloud infrastructure that powers Nasdaq Verafin's financial crime management solutions - tools that help financial institutions fight human trafficking, elder abuse, and other serious crimes. Our Cloud Environments team is focused on automation and disaster recovery, with the mission to redefine resilience in the cloud, where every AWS environment is recovery-ready, every customer protected, and every innovation powered by automation.

This position will be located in St. John’s and Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
