Job Summary
As a Data Scientist, you will build predictive models and machine learning solutions for Nasdaq's eVestment products, driving business decisions across technology platforms. This role involves transforming complex data into actionable insights, working at the intersection of data engineering, product development, and AI innovation. You will design, train, and validate models, clean and preprocess large datasets, implement AI solutions including NLP and computer vision, and collaborate with engineers and product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Monitoring model performance and iterating for accuracy is also key.
Must Have
- Design, train, and validate predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets.
- Implement AI solutions including NLP and computer vision applications.
- Create informative features from raw data.
- Collaborate with data engineers and product managers.
- Monitor model performance in production, identify data drift, and iterate.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data science, physics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in a data-centric role.
- Proficiency in Python and ability to write complex SQL queries.
- Experience with ML and AI frameworks: Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Statsmod, PyTorch, Keras, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, Anthropic APIs.
- Experience with Data Manipulation libraries: Pandas, NumPy, SQL.
- Clear communicator with strong collaboration skills.

Job Description
As a Data Scientist reporting to the Senior Director of Data Science, you'll play a critical role in building predictive models and machine learning solutions that support Nasdaq's eVestment products and drive business decisions across our technology platforms. You will transform complex data into actionable insights, working at the intersection of data engineering, product development, and AI innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and validate predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business challenges.
- Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to ensure data quality and extract meaningful insights.
- Implement AI solutions including NLP and computer vision applications, leveraging pre-trained models and vector databases.
- Create informative features from raw data to improve model performance and interpretability.
- Collaborate with data engineers and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Monitor model performance in production, identify data drift, and iterate to improve accuracy and reduce bias.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data science, physics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in a data-centric role such as data analyst, data scientist, or research assistant.
- Proficiency in Python and ability to write complex SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
- ML and AI: Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Statsmod, PyTorch, Keras, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, Anthropic APIs.
- Data Manipulation: Pandas, NumPy, SQL
- Clear communicator with strong collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
- Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or capital markets.
This position will be located in Atlanta and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
