Job Description
About tonies:
tonies is the world's leading interactive audio platform for children. With more than 10 million Tonieboxes sold and over 125 million Tonies sold, our award-winning and intuitive audio system delights families worldwide. It revolutionizes how children play and learn independently – child-friendly, creative, and screen-free.
Our diverse content portfolio includes around 1,400 Tonies in multiple languages, and our Tonieboxes have already been activated in more than 100 countries. Since our founding, we have achieved numerous milestones, including going public on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in November 2021 and building a global team of over 550 dedicated employees.
Become part of our tonies team and the inspiring mission to create innovative and great audio experiences for children all over the world!
You as part of tonies:
At tonies, we transform data into real insights that enable joy and adventure for our listeners around the world. As a Data Analyst for Content and Portfolio, you are right in the middle of it: you ensure that our dashboards and models not only show how the product portfolio performs - but also why - and what can be derived from this for future product decisions.
You act as an important sparring partner and help the teams to constantly review the performance of the product portfolio, derive future audio developments, and shape the further development of our new "tonieplay" formats in a data-driven way.
In doing so, you work closely with cross-functional and international teams and support them in independently using and further developing data products.
Your tasks include:
- Portfolio Analysis & Content Strategy: You analyze the performance of audio and content formats (e.g., Music, Story, Games), identify drivers for success or failure, and create quick ad-hoc analyses or investigate reasons (deep dives) from which you derive recommendations for action.
- Business Consulting & Enablement: You translate complex performance analyses into clear storylines for content strategy, product, and portfolio teams and enable them to make data-driven decisions (e.g., end-of-life).
- Data Product Development: You develop robust Tableau Dashboards (e.g., for Content Launch Performance, Portfolio Health) and self-service solutions that enable teams to make decisions quickly and independently.
- Data Modeling: You build structured content-related datasets in our Data Warehouse and ensure their up-to-dateness.
- Data Quality & Governance: You track discrepancies from the source to the dashboard, support standard definitions, and ensure high data quality across all markets.
What we expect from you:
- Experience: You have at least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Product or Content Analytics - ideally in the context of physical and digital products (e.g., audio streaming, e-commerce, gaming).
- Business and Data Understanding: You have a deep understanding of portfolio performance metrics (e.g., Engagement, Churn) and a basic understanding of content management and product master data logics.
- Technical Skills: You are proficient in data analysis and visualization tools, especially Tableau, SQL, and advanced Excel. Ideally, you have experience with DWH systems like Snowflake and ETL tools like dbt.
- Data Products & Automation: You develop scalable data products or KPI suites that accelerate decision-making processes, influence results, and reduce manual work.
- Working Style & Personality: You have strong analytical skills, a high affinity for numbers, and a strong problem-solving mentality - proactive, independent, and solution-oriented.
- Communication: You have excellent communication skills and can convey complex issues and possible solutions/recommendations clearly, structured, and understandably.
- Hybrid Work: Presence in our Düsseldorf office 2 days a week.
- Languages: You are fluent in German and English.
Why tonies?
- Global Teamwork: We work together across departments and country borders on our vision to bring the Toniebox into every child's room worldwide.
- Come as you are: This applies not only to the dress code but also to everything else. Because only where you truly feel comfortable can you give your best.
- Mobility: Choose the offer that suits you best - a Deutschlandticket Job for unlimited mobility, a monthly subsidy of fifty euros for an office parking space, a leasing bicycle, or as a remote work allowance.
- Security: Benefit from subsidies for capital-forming benefits, a company pension scheme, and occupational disability insurance.
- Relaxation & Time Off: Enjoy 30 days of paid annual leave as well as three additional free days such as Rosenmontag, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. After one year of service, you can also use up to 10 "toniecation days" (unpaid leave).
- Continuous Further Training: Benefit from our internal and external training opportunities and an individual learning budget to continuously expand your knowledge.
- Learning Languages and Relaxing Made Easy: Improve your communication skills with the Babbel language learning app and find relaxation through our access to the Calm meditation app.
- Discounts: Benefit from attractive discounts on our entire tonies product range.
