Job Summary

As a Senior Product Master Data Manager at tonies, you will lead the development and governance of product master data for both physical and digital products. This pivotal role involves managing, structuring, and leveraging product data across the company, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and efficiency in key systems like PLM, ERP, and PIM. You will act as a crucial link between Product and other stakeholders, driving data integrity, process alignment, automation, and continuous improvement to support tonies' growing global business.

Must Have

  • Lead and maintain the product master data framework across systems (esp. PLM, ERP, PIM).
  • Define and uphold data standards, structures, and governance principles.
  • Shape and optimize product data processes for scalability, compliance, and efficient cross-system integration.
  • Manage product master data, ensuring readiness for production, marketing, and sales.
  • Collaborate with the Product Systems Manager and IT to enhance data flows and interfaces.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories.
  • Establish and maintain product master data dashboards and quality reporting.
  • Monitor and resolve data quality issues, driving root cause analysis.
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to internal and external data standards.
  • 5+ years of experience in product master data management.
  • Proven track record in designing and managing scalable product data frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of product development and lifecycle processes, BOM structures, and data governance principles.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM, PIM systems (e.g., FlexPLM, Salsify) and ERP environments.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

##### You as part of tonies:

As Senior Product Master Data Manager (all genders) in our Product Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage, structure, and leverage product data across the company. You will lead the development and governance of our product master data framework for both physical and digital products, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and efficiency across all key systems. In this role, you will act as the key link between Product and other product master data stakeholders (e.g. Production, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, Shop, App, Finance), ensuring data integrity and process alignment across the product lifecycle. You’ll also collaborate closely with our Product Systems Manager to drive automation, system integration, and continuous improvement. With your expertise, you will help us build a best-in-class data and systems foundation that supports our growing global business.

##### Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Master Data Management & Governance

  • Lead and maintain the product master data framework across systems (esp. PLM, ERP, PIM), serving as the primary contact for all product data topics.
  • Define and uphold data standards, structures, and governance principles to ensure accuracy and consistency across the product lifecycle.
  • Shape and optimize product data processes to ensure scalability, compliance, and efficient cross-system integration.
  • Manage product master data, ensuring readiness for prodution, marketing and sales and seamless collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Promote adherence to data standards across teams in collaboration with Data Governance forum/experts through training, communication, and continuous engagement.

Automation, Integration & System Enablement

  • Collaborate with the Product Systems Manager and IT to enhance data flows and interfaces between systems.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve data quality and system efficiency.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories, supporting system developments and integrations.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of Product Lifecycle Management functionalities to enable end-to-end, connected processes.

Data Quality, Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and maintain product master data dashboards and quality reporting in collaboration with the central Data & Insights team.
  • Monitor and resolve data quality issues, driving root cause analysis and sustainable improvements.
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to internal and external data standards in collaboration with our Quality Compliance and Legal teams.

##### What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in product master data management, ideally for both physical and digital products and within a global product or consumer electronics environment.
  • Proven track record in designing and managing scalable product data frameworks across PLM, ERP, or PIM systems.
  • Solid understanding of product development and lifecycle processes, BOM structures, and data governance principles.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM, PIM systems (e.g., FlexPLM, Salsify) and ERP environments; system integration knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for process efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
  • Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented working style with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); German language skills are a plus.
