Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Risk Strategy team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing loss and driving growth across Venmo and PayPal. You will leverage advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical techniques to detect fraud patterns, design real-time risk solutions, and support new product launches. This position is for someone who gets excited about solving analytical problems. They are bright, they are responsible, and they know how to follow through. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: * Lead the development and implementation of advanced data science models. * Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements. * Drive best practices in data science. * Ensure data quality and integrity in all processes. * Mentor and guide junior data scientists. * Stay updated with the latest trends in data science. Minimum Qualifications: * Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualification: * Data driven mindset with degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics. * Proven experience in employing mathematical, statistical and data mining methods on real world problems * Proficient in data mining and familiar with SQL,Python BigQuery etc. * Must be an intuitive, organized analytical thinker, with the ability to drive analysis end to end * Industry experience in payments, e-commerce, or financial services is a plus. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to influence cross-functional teams. * Prior experience in Fraud and Risk management Travel Percent: 0 - PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
