Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, Android, you will be part of a cross-functional native team focused on delivering exceptional sports and entertainment experiences. You will collaborate with other native developers on both iOS and Android platforms, contributing to technical design, planning scope, and mentoring engineers. Your role involves ensuring scalability and availability of the entire platform, influencing product direction, and enhancing mobile experiences within a dynamic enterprise environment. Responsibilities include developing high-quality Android applications, architecting scalable codebases, collaborating with product managers and designers, and adopting modern development practices like Jetpack Compose.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Android
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Mockk)
  • Knowledge of release processes
Must Have:
  • 3+ years experience building Android apps with Kotlin
  • Strong knowledge of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose
  • Deep understanding of asynchronous programming (coroutines, flows)
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs

The Crown Is Yours

As a Senior Software Engineer, Android you will be part of a feature focused cross-functional native team collaborating with other native developers to deliver features in both iOS and Android in lockstep and on schedule. You will contribute to the technical design, write tasks, and plan the scope of the work, mentor engineers, and swarm to ensure the team succeeds together. You will be a creative contributor to our processes and decision-making so when we build new features, we can ensure scalability and availability of the entire platform. You’ll be dedicated to delivering best-in-class mobile experiences, work across teams, influence product direction, and contribute to the continued evolution of our mobile platform within a dynamic enterprise environment.

What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer, Android

  • Development of high-quality Android applications that deliver engaging, reliable experiences to millions of users.

  • Architect scalable, modular, and maintainable Android codebases, leveraging modern development practices.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and deliver new features end-to-end.

  • Work with Jetpack libraries and explore the adoption of Jetpack Compose where it adds value to the user experience and developer velocity.

  • Stay ahead of Android platform changes, ecosystem updates, and mobile trends to keep the team’s skills and tools cutting-edge.

 

What you’ll bring

  • At least 3 years experience building and shipping Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development principles.

  • Strong knowledge of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture.

  • Working knowledge of Jetpack Compose and a passion for exploring modern UI frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of asynchronous programming using coroutines, flows, and reactive streams.

  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, handling data persistence, and managing complex states in mobile apps.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Android, automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, Mockk), and release processes.

  • A user-focused mindset, with an ability to translate product and design requirements into intuitive mobile experiences.
