We’re growing our offerings, building on the launch of our successful streaming platform ViX.

The API Platform team at ViX Streaming is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Backend to help us scale and evolve the identity systems that support millions of users across our global streaming platform. As part of TelevisaUnivision, we’re building the future of digital entertainment—backed by a deep investment in technology, content, and innovation.

Our team is responsible for building high-performance, reliable APIs that support a wide variety of applications and integration partners across the ViX platform. This role has a strong focus on identity and authentication services, playing a critical part in ensuring seamless and secure user experiences. You have a strong interest in identity and access management, understand the complexities of authentication flows, and are ready to own critical backend systems that drive secure access to our platform.

YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)

• Producing high-level architectural designs and implementing those designs for backend systems, with a focus on identity and authentication.
• Deliver systems that are architecturally sound, operationally excellent, and aligned with business needs.
• Design and implement robust identity solutions, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows, ensuring secure token integration and management.
• Acquire a deep understanding of your assigned systems, particularly those related to user authentication and authorization.
• Have a sense of ownership to do the best with the time available and be proactive about triaging and prioritizing problems to get fixed.

YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)

• 7+ years of software development experience as a technical individual contributor.
• 4+ years of hands-on API and system development.
• 3+ years working in the video streaming space.
• 5+ years of cloud-based development.
• Have an expert-level understanding of APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Demonstrable experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, specifically Auth0 or similar identity providers.
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including JWT (JSON Web Tokens) and token lifecycle management.
