Cisco's Data Center Business Unit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Storage Area Networking (SAN) team. Must Have

  • Develop products deployed by top-tier service providers
  • Strong skills in C programming and debugging
  • Good understanding of Linux fundamentals and Kernel debugging skills
  • Sound experience of networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, FC/FCOE Protocols & HW switching/routing Platforms)
  • Ability to understand, articulate and implement RFC/IEEE/T11 standards
  • Work on design aspects with Tech Leads
  • Handle customer escalations
  • Own end-to-end responsibility of component ownership areas

At Data Center Business Unit at Cisco, we are dedicated to driving innovation in networking technologies. Our focus is on developing ground breaking Ethernet Switching products that address the evolving needs of modern network infrastructures, including those in AI, cloud computing, and enterprise environments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of core Ethernet Technologies with architectural exposure to craft and develop Ethernet Switching as applied to both Public and Private cloud infrastructure.

Your Impact

You will be working with Storage Area Networking (SAN) team, within Datacentre BU in Cisco. SAN team works on Cisco MDS 9000 Multilayer Directors and Fabric Switches software development. This team has strong technical expertise in SAN platform, Optics, Fibre Channel protocols, NVMe, Cisco Nexus OS etc and has been forefront on innovative solutions to meet futuristic market demands. Strong software release roadmap and next generation MDS switch releases keeps very good market share in SAN technology area. You will also be working closely with SAN Product Marketing, TMEs, TAC and Escalation teams as well.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires a BE/BTech in EE/CS with 8-11 years of experience
  • Strong skills in C programming and debugging.
  • Good understanding of Linux fundamentals, Kernel debugging skills
  • Sound Experience of networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, FC/FCOE Protocols & HW switching/routing Platforms)
  • Ability to understand, articulate and implement RFC/IEEE/T11 standards.
