Senior Software Engineering Manager - Alternative Investments (SS&C Technologies, Inc., Windsor, CT): The Senior Software Engineering Manager- Alternative Investments will lead a high-performing engineering team in designing, delivering, and scaling critical SaaS platforms that serve some of the largest private markets firms in the world. The role will also play a vital role in shaping AI-driven innovation, maintaining compliance and security excellence, and contributing to shared platform services in partnership with the broader Intralinks ecosystem. This is a strategic, technical, and people centric leadership position designed for those who can drive architecture at scale, deliver enterprise grade features, and build strong engineering cultures. Specific responsibilities include: Leading the architecture, design, and implementation of secure, multi-tenant distributed systems that power platforms. Building resilient, compliant systems using Federated Kubernetes clusters for geo-distributed scalability; MongoDB for investor metadata and structured fund information; Redis for low latency caching and distributed coordination; Workflow orchestration engines (Camunda, n8n, Temporal, Argo) for business process automation. Partnering with Data and AI teams to deliver: AI-powered due diligence solutions to extract insights from PPMs, LPAs, and fund documentation; Automated metadata tagging, classification, and entity extraction for fund raise pipelines; Compliance-grade explainability, auditability, and model governance. Working cross-functionally to embed AI into investor communication workflows, alerts, risk summaries, and reporting insights. Ensuring platforms are built to meet the highest standards of security and compliance. Championing security-first development: encrypted data-at-rest and in-transit, secure DevOps practices, and zero-trust principles. Collaborating with Deal Management engineering teams to evolve shared services (Vault, IAM, Object Store, Event Bus, Billing). Participating in architecture councils, API governance, and reliability initiatives. Coordinating across cross-functional Product and Project Management teams, contributing to technical sections of RFPs, and effectively managing production escalations in high-stakes, regulated environments. Managing a team of engineers. Telecommuting permitted. 10% domestic travel to SS&C offices and conferences.
Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related engineering field plus 8 years of experience in an engineering role. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related engineering field plus 10 years of experience in an engineering role.
5 years of experience in technical leadership and leading complex projects. 4 years of experience of direct people management. Expertise in Kubernetes (with Federation), MongoDB, Redis, and Workflow Engines. Experience building secure, compliant SaaS platforms. Strong knowledge of private equity or fund lifecycle workflows. Ensure platform alignment with SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and global regulatory standards.
