Job Description

The Compute and Custom Solutions (CCS) team at Marvell is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for the Post-Silicon Validation team. This role involves driving innovation in next-generation silicon, designing cutting-edge SoCs and processors. Responsibilities span product development phases, from early bring-up to full system validation, including integrating PCIe/Ethernet firmware, debugging IO interfaces, developing test plans, and automating test flows. The engineer will work hands-on with high-speed IO interfaces like Ethernet and PCIe on multi-core ARM processors, ensuring performance and reliability of Marvell’s products.

Must Have:
  • Integrate and support PCIe/Ethernet firmware in Marvell's SDK.
  • Debug IO interfaces using diagnostic tools.
  • Develop and execute validation test plans.
  • Validate PCIe/Ethernet features on new SoCs.
  • Design software and firmware for interface validation.
  • Support new product bring-up and initialization.
  • Automate test flows for DUT and lab equipment.
  • Collaborate with teams to debug and resolve issues.
  • Deliver clear validation reports.
  • Resolve customer-reported issues.
  • 5-10 years experience with Bachelor's or 3-5 years with Master's/PhD.
  • Hands-on high-speed IO testing, debugging, validation.
  • Strong computer architecture understanding.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in high-speed SERDES, equalization, PCIe protocols.
  • Proficient lab skills: system bring-up, testing, network testing.
  • Experience programming in C/C++.
  • Exposure to Linux Kernel Builds.

In this exciting role, you’ll be part of the Post-Silicon Validation team, where your work will span multiple phases of product development—from early bring-up to full system validation. You’ll help shape the performance and reliability of Marvell’s products by developing software, crafting test plans, and enabling customer platforms. Our team works hands-on with a wide range of high-speed IO interfaces—including Ethernet, PCIe, and more—on powerful multi-core ARM processors. What You Can Expect

  • Integrate and support PCIe/Ethernet firmware within Marvell's SDK.
  • Debug IO interfaces using diagnostic tools.
  • Develop and execute validation test plans based on specifications and customer requirements.
  • Validate PCIe/Ethernet features on new SoCs.
  • Design software and firmware solutions for interface validation.
  • Support bring-up and initialization of new products.
  • Automate test flows for DUT and lab equipment (e.g., traffic generators, protocol analyzers, scopes, temperature chambers).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug and resolve issues.
  • Deliver clear validation reports detailing setup, procedures, and results.
  • Address and resolve customer-reported issues.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience OR Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience in high-speed IO testing, debugging, and validation.
  • Understanding of computer architecture.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong understanding of high-speed SERDES, equalization techniques, and PCIe protocols. Compute Express Link (CXL) knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient in lab skills across system bring-up, testing, debugging, and network testing.
  • Experience with programming in C/C++. Python scripting is a plus.
  • Exposure to Linux Kernel Builds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

136,400 - 201,800, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
