Marvell is seeking a Sr. Staff Field Applications Engineer specializing in Switching. This role involves being the primary contact for customer engineering issues, supporting customers throughout the product lifecycle from pre-sale evaluations to production. Responsibilities include driving customer engineering, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving customer-reported issues to enable timely product launches. The engineer will act as a regional subject matter expert on Marvell Ethernet Switching portfolio, collaborating with R&D and product management. They will also support customers integrating Marvell products, assist with board/software bring-up, replicate issues in a lab environment, and author technical knowledge base articles. Travel to customer sites will be required.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's/Master's in CS/Electronics/EE or related field.
  • 7-11 years of software development background.
  • Proficient in C language and debugging skills.
  • Good knowledge of computer networking (VLAN, STP, L1, L2, L3).
  • Experience in L2 Switching, Routing, and protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Networking OS (NOS), Linux Kernel, L1/L2 drivers.
  • Understanding of PCIe, TCAM, hash memories, SERDES, high-speed I/O.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure in Enterprise, Data Center, Carrier networks.
  • Expertise on SAI, Sonic, and other NOS.
  • Knowledge/experience with Marvell Switching/Networking products.
  • Previous experience in technical customer engineering role.

Field Application Engineering Team at Marvell India is the first point of contact for customer engineering issues. A growing team of highly skilled and motivated trouble shooters, they are responsible to support customers integrating Marvell products, helping them during the entire product cycle from pre-sale evaluations to design, bring up, production and post production.

What You Can Expect

  • Driving and sustaining best-in-class customer engineering, and demonstrated success in helping technically to Win complex design opportunities.
  • Should be able to work closely with customers on projects, own programs, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve customer reported issues in a timely manner to enable customer product launches.
  • Should strive to be a regional subject matter expert on Marvell Ethernet Switching portfolio.
  • Interface with other regional/WW FAE Team members, R&D teams and product management to escalate and resolve issues.
  • Own customer programs and support customer teams integrating Marvell products in their designs and help them in board/software bring up.
  • Replicate issues using customer configurations in a lab environment for issue investigations.
  • Assist Sales team to win key designs by resolving pre-sales queries on Marvell Switching products.
  • Author technical knowledge base articles for use by customers, other customer engineering personnel, and partners.
  • Travel to customer onsite locations would be required on need basis.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree and or/Master's degree in Computer Science/Electronics/ Electrical Engineering or related fields and 7 - 11 years of software development background.
  • Should be Proficient in C language and possess very good debugging skills.
  • Good knowledge in computer networking (VLAN, STP, L1, L2, L3 etc.) and experience in L2 Switching, Routing and protocols is a must.
  • Good Knowledge of Networking OS(NOS), Linux Kernel and L1/L2 drivers is desirable.
  • Understanding of PCIe, TCAM, hash memories, SERDES, high speed I/O interfaces, DMA controllers, MDIO, and i2c is desirable
  • Good knowledge of network infrastructure in Enterprise, Data Center and Carrier networks is a plus
  • Expertise on SAI, Sonic and other NOS is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience with Marvell Switching/Networking products is a plus
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in technical customer engineering role is a plus
