Job Description

The Simulation System Technician will be part of a four-person Simulation Support Team (SST) for Cubic's Abu Dhabi Branch Office, providing Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for two simulation training centers in the UAE. Responsibilities include on-site/off-site repair, maintenance program delivery, spares control, technical support during exercises, facility setup/pack-up, preventative maintenance, stocktaking, equipment function checking, and maintaining cleanliness. The role also involves supporting the Emiratization Program and developing technical documentation.
Good To Have:
  • Experience of living and working in the Middle East.
  • Prior military experience.
  • Experience in Joint Fires and/or ISTAR.
  • Expertise in simulation systems and software.
  • Experience in managing stores, maintenance, or logistics.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Military Technical Qualification.
Must Have:
  • Conduct unit-level on-site and off-site repair, replacement, and fault-finding.
  • Plan and deliver a maintenance program.
  • Control the back loading of items that need to be replaced, upgraded, repaired, or disposed of.
  • Control and manage in-country spares and ordering of spares.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance of simulation systems during exercises and courses.
  • Control and deliver the establishment and pack-up of fixed location and deployable facilities.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance for assets as directed.
  • Conduct system stocktaking and audits as directed.
  • Conduct maintainer level function checking of equipment assigned for use on training exercises.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Raise inspection reports for damaged equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment, training facilities and workstations used for exercise support.
  • Control the issue and receipt process for equipment.
  • Support the Emiratization Program.
  • Support the development of an information library.
  • Develop technical and maintenance materials setting out the inspection and maintenance regimes developed in support of the facility.
  • Develop technical documents to support routine activity.
  • Experience operating in a small team environment.
  • Experience in maintaining software and hardware.
  • Driving License.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues.
  • Technical Training.

Job Summary:

The Cubic Abu Dhabi Branch Office will lead the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) element of the provision of two simulation training centers in the United Arab Emirates. The Simulation Support Team (SST) will consist of one Team Leader/System Manager, one Deputy Team Leader/System Manager and two Simulation Technicians. The team will support the two centers as directed by the team leader. The Team will support two centers which are both located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct unit-level on-site and off-site repair (when the system is deployed to alternative locations), replacement, and fault-finding.
  • Plan and deliver a maintenance program.
  • Control the back loading of items that need to be replaced, upgraded, repaired, or disposed of.
  • Control and manage the in-country spares.
  • Control and manage the ordering of spares.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance of simulation systems during exercises and courses.
  • Control and deliver the establishment and pack-up of fixed location and deployable facilities.
